Worth Every Penney

These lids are wonderful. I was fed up with Ball lids because of the lid failures. I have been canning for 20+ years and never had the failures I was experiencing this year. I took a chance and purchased a box of each regular and wide mouth lids and rings. These work like Ball lids used to. I placed these in warm water until I was ready to put them in my jars—100% seal rate.

After all the work to grow, harvest, and process my vegetables, I am extremely angry at the failure rate on the Roots wide mouth lids. A TS associate talked me into taking 24 jars with lids when they ran out of stock during their Ball special last year. I've only used 10 of them so far, and 4 failed to seal. I used both waterbath and pressure canner methods. 40% failure rate is unacceptable. I'll be throwing the rest of these crap lids away and buying Ball to replace.
