With KitchenAid's BCG211OB Blade Coffee and Spice Grinder, in onyx black, you get separate grinding bowls for coffee and spices to prevent cross-contamination. This dual-use grinder features a powerful blade grinding mechanism that consists of stainless steel blades driven by a powerful 160-watt motor to grind coffee and spices rapidly with minimum noise. The 4 oz. brushed stainless steel coffee grinding bowl easily holds enough beans to brew up to 12 cups of coffee. The coffee grinding bowl has internal etched measurement markings that display the recommended brew (4, 8, 10 and 12 cups). Two 2-ounce spice grinding bowls include 1 spice grinding lid, 1 shaker lid and 2 storage lids. The clear, top cover gives you one-touch control. Simply push down on the cover to begin grinding and release to stop. The clear cover also allows you to easily see the consistency of grinds. Plus, the heavy-duty motor housing helps keep the grinder stable during operation.

Overall works well and does the job. Biggest issue with the design is that when I am grinding spices and they are completely powdered, they spill from the jar to the lid. So when I open the lid, the ground spices spill out.

I spend so much time looking for just the right grinder to make and mix my own spices. I tried hand grinders, electric grinder and nothing worked. Either I got a hand cramp OR the machine burned out after a few uses. This grinder right here though… AMAZING. I’ve had absolutely no issues. It grinds everything from coffee beans to rock salt to spices. I mean it does everything, quickly, quietly and efficiently. And cleaning it is a breeze. I have no complaints about this product at all and that’s pretty unusual for me. But if your looking for a good grinder, this is it right here!!!!!

I purchased this item about six weeks ago and have had it for a month. I have used it for so many different items. Coffee, herbs, spices and more. I love the metal bowls and different sizes offered. The lids and shaker cover are a real bonus to the package. In true KitchenAid fashion the quality is top notch and I will use it often.

Highly Disappointed

Kitchenaid is my go-to for any small appliance. I have the coffee maker, the stand mixer, and the blender. I asked for this coffee grinder for Christmas. It was such a disappointment when opening the box and feeling the grinder being made of what I would consider raw stainless material, not polished and smooth. On top of that, the top cover does not sit even and wobbles. I did try everything to correct it, but this from other reviews seems to be how it was engineered. This design flaw leads to the coffee bean pieces being blown out of the metal cup into the bottom and around the edges, creating a horrible mess and a waste of good coffee. Needless to say, this was not only a disappointment but also a feeling of being let down by a brand known for quality. I would advise others to keep your receipt and try it out to make sure you'll be happy with it in the end.

I purchased a few weeks ago. THE CONCEPT IS GREAT USED WHEN FIRST DELIVERED FOR COFFEE AND SPICES AND IT WORKED GREAT THEN THIS MORNING WENT TO GRIND COFFEE AND MADE SOUND BUT DID NOT GRIND COFFEE, HAD TO USE MY VITAMIX INSTEAD. NOW TRYING TO RETURN, HAVE TO CALL CAUSE NOT RETURNABLE ONLINE BUT OF COURSE IT'S FRIDAY SO HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL MONDAY CAUSE NO CUSOTMER SERVICE ON WEEKENDS.

The grind is usually a bit uneven. If you fill it to the max line, the beans at the top won’t grind hardly at all. The grinds get stuck under the blade and turn into a cake that you have to scrape out each time. Overall a good grinder though.

When I got this, the main selling feature I was looking for was the ability to grind coffee and spices without needing two grinders. This grinder fits the bill. With multiple cups, I don't need to worry about black pepper affecting my coffee since it's a completely different cup! And it cleans up easily too. I do with the cups were a bit thicker, as I can see them getting bent or dented pretty easily.

I will never drink coffee, but I grind spices multiple times a week. The grinder is very easy to use and more importantly, clean. KitchenAid is the first brand I look to for my culinary needs. Nothing smells better than fresh ground coffee and this worked reasonably well for grinding the beans. It does leave a few whole beans, but I think it's from them getting trapped under the blade. It really does a superb job grinding spices and it's really convenient that it comes with multiple grinding cups and lids. The operation is smooth you just push down to grind. It's a lot quieter that other grinders I've used and clean up is fast and easy.

I purchased this grinder for spices more than coffee. I was happy to see how fine it ground my cinnamin sticks. I would recomend this product. If it is that good with cinnamin and would also be great at grinding coffee.

The KitchenAid Coffee and Spice Grinder…..grinds whole coffee beans or spices very rapidly. The grinder's one-touch operation, measurement markings, stainless steel element is fantastic and definitely gets the job done!
Everything about The KitchenAid Coffee and Spice Grinder is sturdy and well made unlike others I have used. It’s also one of the quietest grinder blade & that is very much appreciated.
I have been using the KitchenAid Coffee and Spice Grinder a little bit over a month now and I have learned grinding spices & herbs take some longer than other to give you the desired texture you are looking for.

A true savior

I was one of those people who were grinding beans manually and it hit me one day, is it because I like this sensation or did I really not want to save time and get an electric grinder? Well, fear not my friends as this KitchenAid grinder has been a true savior as I know can make loads of ground coffee for anyone! I was also using the tiniest mortar and pestle for grinding Szechuan peppercorn and while that can we fun, now having the electric grinder I feel like I’m using the right amount of spices in recipes. It’s actually quite appealing to the eye so I leave mine out in the countertop. Sound level is not bad either.

This grinder has been a fabulous addition to our kitchen. My husband is on a "fresh coffee" kick. He purchases whole beans, so multiple times a week, he's been grinding beans. He's thrilled with the speed of the grinder and the texture received. IF I can ever get it away from him then I'll be using it for spices.

I picked one of these KitchenAid grinders to grind my morning coffee. I have other KitchenAid appliances in my kitchen and figured they were quality so this should be as well. The grinder comes with everything you need to grind your coffee. The grinder is very easy to use. You can also use the grinder for spices, I have not used the grinder for spices yet but I definitely will try it in the future. KitchenAid does it again, makes an awesome product!!
