- A: 1. Take your portable air tank to any source with clean, dry compressed air (a full service gas station or truck stop is preferred). Note - A modern convenience mart type filling station will not have sufficient air pressure available to allow you to get the most from your air tank. 2. The air tank is filled like a car tire by pressing the chuck from the source to the filter valve. When filling your air tank, do not exceed 125 PSI.6 years agoHelpful?

Q: How can one add a quick connect adapter to your tank. If you remove the hose it leaves a 5/16' female thread. I took the tank to the local ace hardware 3/8 or 1/2 fittings were available but no 5/16s. All pneumatic fittings were 1/2 or 3/4. l
