Ingersoll Rand motor advertised, but off brand motor shipped twice !!

I ordered this exactly 366 days ago. 1 year and 1 day. Guess how long the warranty is good for? 1 year. Guess how long this motor was functioning for? 1 Year and 1 day. I am not the only person who has experienced this phenomenon with this motor. This is so blatantly planned obsolescence. Engineered to break right after the warranty expires.

These motors are disposable. They only last about 2 years maybe. I’m on my 4th motor. The unfortunate part is if you purchase the extended warranty, tractor supply cancels the warranty right after purchase. They state that they don’t offer warranty coverage on this item. Meanwhile it’s the first thing they prompt you to do is buy the warranty coverage at time of purchase. They should stop selling items they are unwilling to warranty!

My second replacement. Too expensive but failed once from rain and moisture intrusion second time a lizard in the armature. 600 dollars is painful but correct part and straight forward installation . Used a puller to remove old pulley but was forced to drive pulley on new unit. Heated hub to assist installation

It runs, fits the mounting holes, no problems.

Arrived damaged, absolutely horrible customer service from tractor supply. Still trying to return this item but cannont get anyone from Tractor supply to reply to me. Will never purchase from them again.

This is the exact same fit for my 14 year old Ingersol Rand compressor from Tractor Supply

The motor was great but the shipper dropped it. The box was busted, the motor was bent up. The capacitor covers were tore off and the mounting bracket bent. I was able to fixes it because I needed my compressor.

Original sales person was awesome to deal with! Unfortunately, Fed Ex damaged the motor And we were able to get a new one ordered. The sales manager at Tractor Supply and the customer service rep were the best in arranging a new motor But, again Fed Ex has been sitting on this for a week without delivering Tractor Supply…10+ Fed Ex… -10

direct fit , bolt on

i purchased one of the IR compressors with this 5hp motor on it. the motor won't last long under heavy use. it is a light duty motor.

So far so good. Back up and in good running order. Easy swap. Didn't want to take a chance with the cheap aftermarket brands.

Ordered motor may 4 . About 3 weeks later they said had no idea when it would ship. I cancelled order and then a week later it showed up at my door . About 5 weeks total . Store returned it no problem . But far too long of a wait

Arrived busted, had to drive to the store to return it, wasn’t able to reorder in store, online order only, went online later that day and item is no longer offered.

Had a little issue with motor being damaged in shipment. Motor did not work initially, would not work. I was able to take off electric access plate on back of the motor and found the connections were not good. I plugged in the connections again and checked to circuit and tested the motor. Everything is working fine now.

Motor looks good. I hope it last as long as the last one. The last one was an emerson. This is the 3 motor for this compressor in 16 years. The original motor did not last, under warrantee IR replaced it. I purchased this new one. Price was nearly half of what a new compressor is. As photos will show, motor was in a sturdy enough box. Poorly strapped to a plank of wood via stretch wrap. Some damage to the mounting flange and knocked one of the capacitors nearly off the top of the motor. Shaft did not have any damage. When I tried to hook the motor up it did not start. I checked my connections and all up into the motor cover plate. Checked the connections just to find our they were not connected well. I plugged them back in and motor fired up. I cannot imagine that the motor was checked properly at the factory. These connections do not just come loose. It has only been a few days since the motor was installed. I hope to get at least a few good years out of this one.

Nothing to like. Good for about a year then you will probably be replacing. This is why they list the motor for sale here because once you purchase their junk compressor’s you will be needing this motor a year later.

Exact match was worth the price. Shipped quicker than stated.

works great only issue is after only 18 months the other one died

Great replacement it is always best to use the same motor
