Welsummers are a Dutch breed considered one of the top free range foragers of all laying breeds but they can also be kept in runs quite happily. Hens lay lovely large terra-cotta brown eggs, often with speckles. Very friendly and easy to handle, hens do go broody, often in late Spring but are not particularly good mothers. Egg production does decrease in the winter months with Welsummers but they are hardy in cold weather. They are productive for 3 years and can live up to 9 years.Guarantee of 90% accuracy on all sexed poultry.

Q: What if you purchase chicks and a couple of them pass away in the first couple of days? I have ordered plenty of chicks but 2 of my Welsummer chicks looked very weak upon pick up from post office and passed away the next day.

Q: If I am willing to pay fo 10 which seems to be the minimum, can you only send 6 which is what I have accommodations to handle. They are for my Dad to watch and hopefully bond with to soothe his early stages of Alzheimers with me taking full care.
