We had 8 dead in the box then we got them And lost 6 more the next day

I ordered these having had no prior issues in previous years with chick's coming to my location. It's not like I was in the middle of no where. I waited and waited, even called my post office to see if they had arrived and no one had called me yet. Nope. Thursday at 12:15pm I get a call, your chick's are here, you need to come quick, the box smells and for 40 chicks, not many are churping. I arrive, open the box and 2 are moving. I later found out that they shipped these chick's from Iowa to Kentucky on a FedEx truck. It's referred to as FedEx Smartpost. The USA mail services have subcontracted out to FedEx at some points, for some reason and my chick's were put on a box truck or 53ft trailer for 19 hours. They apparently made it in the 24hr window that's promised, but you put them in an oven to get them to me. I called twice on a refund and it's still processing, but it's not about the $170 that I'm out, it's the fact that you put day old chick's in a box truck and on the only 80 degrees day here and then shipped them 19 hours and expected them to live, it's cruel. AND a solution the tractor supply teamed suggested was to SHIP MORE AGAIN. I think I'll find a local hatchery and pick them up in person.

Out of 40 chicks, 7 died within 24 hrs. We had been notified of a shipping delay, and we are unsure if that affected the mortality rate.

I will NEVER order from them again. Out of 40 chicks I have 33 living.

Received only 34 chicks and no response from customer service. Very disappointed overall.

I’ve bought birds from 2 other places and these birds were so much better. They’ve been healthy and happy.

These are great meat birds, out of 40 we lost 1 and had 2 whose legs gave out.

This breed of chicken is so good. Growth rate is fast but with more muscle than fat. My last set was so good looking, strong and with no joint issues I allowed some to just grow and they started laying eggs after 7 months 😁

The chicks always arrive very energetic and healthy. I’ve been very happy with my experience.

I received the chicks almost 2 days after they shipped. 1 had passed, 2 where in critical condition. Didn't make it but a few hours that day. Obviously they were hungry and dehydrated. The following week, 3 more passed. I'm still new but have gotten quite a few babies by this point. So far, haven't had one to pass. Well until now. This is the first time I have had them shipped though. I won't be shipping chicks again.

Most for sickly and died

Our chicks came to the post office in a totally smashed box. We were short one (likely got out) and two were dead on arrival. 3 more died within 48 hours, so we are minus 6. To date, we have had NO response from Tractor Supply about this situation. We have also not been credited for this loss as of yet.

Chicks arrived well packed and fast. Unfortunately we lost 10 in the course of 72 hours after arriving which was unfortunate, nothing we could do. We just recommend always ordering a quarter more than what you need in case you lose some during shipping or after arrival.

Always replacing if something comes in dead. Always answers the phone. Never had an issue.

Birds in alive on arrival. Difficult to get refund. Re charged instead of refunded

This were ordered June 18th, and sent out on June 23rd during a heat advisory. They were mailed out Priority Mail, and my post office called me this morning to let me know that they all arrived dead and they were rejecting the package. I find this bad business practice to ship out during a heat advisory(it was all over the news the whole country was in a heat warning not just Maine), it was 102* yesterday, and high 90*'s Monday the 23rd when they were shipped out. I would of rather had the birds shipped out later in this week or even next week when the heat index had gone down, and had the birds arrive alive vs the inhumane 100* weather and slow suffocating death they had.

Do Not Order. 13 chicks dead within 48 hrs. Too many hoops to pump through in attempt for refund.

I bought 50 birds 12 died on the first day

Order 40 chicks. By day 2 11-died I’m sure from the shock of shipping process. I will never order them again I’ll find them in local farm stores as I use to do. I called TSC and they only advised they would open a ticket where the haters would have to decide to refund for the 11 loss. First time I ordered via mail and won’t do that again. Still fighting for a refund for the 11 chicks

Ordered 40 and 1 died during shipping which is very acceptable. We received 47 in total. The remaining 46 have been very healthy other than 1 has a club foot. The extra 7 they sent was more than generous. Will be ordering a new batch in 6 weeks.

After our first 40 shipped and were left on our doorstep at 3pm, we realized all 40 were deceased upon arrival (note left from the post office that is 20 minutes away, not 10 like our zip code). Since TSC was still tracking the order as in process, we called Hoovers. They sent another 40 and profusely apologized. The second 40 were also left on our doorstep in the afternoon, from the same post office in a different town - only 16 were alive this time. I'm not sure what the confusion was, but I figured that since only 16 out of the 80 survived the shipping, I would not try again and just cut my losses.

Wonderful results so far!! 2 weeks in and all shipped chicks survived and are thriving. Best experience ever and I’ve been doing this for 10+ years.

Should not be in the chicken business. Poor chicks were in transit for three days. By the time we received, they were anorexic, dehydrated and cold to the touch. We lost almost half of them right away. They did give us credit for the ones that died within the first 48 hours. Unfortunately, they are sickly and to this day continue to die daily. Will not order again b

After about 20% of my original order of 40 chicks died, TSC was wonderful sending replacements and a few additional chicks that all lived and thrived. USPS was terrible , but that is no reflection on TSC. We would prefer sending tge chicks to the store for pickups rather than USPS

I purchased 40 chicks. The post office called and I picked up within the hour. They require 80-90 F heat so I had my heater on on the way home which is a ten minute drive. They came in a little box which is ready to carry. They were thirsty. Every single one is healthy and strong. They have a 200 watt heat lamp and 3 water bowls. I hope this information helps you to be successful in raising healthy chicks.

40 chicks ordered, 7 dead on arrival, 3 more over the next 24 hours. 25% dead in 24 hours. Contacted customer service. Replacements sent. Sent 15 for the lost 10 (appreciated). 7 dead on arrival with 3 more in the next 24 hours. Thats 66% dead in 24 hours. Less than 48 hours from shipping notification to pick up. Have been raising birds a long time and understand there is usually loss. But this is crazy. Not sure if its the bird flu issue or a bad batch.
