The Hobart Medium-Duty Torch Kit is an oxy/acetylene cutting and welding outfit. This Hobart welding outfit includes many features found in more expensive outfits. The Hobart TOUGHCUT is perfect for a multitude of applications such as farm, ranch, hobby, automotive, refrigeration, light fabrication and repair. This welding outfit is designed for use with acetylene fuel gas but can operate on propane by simply changing to propane tips. Cuts up to 6 in. (153mm) and welds up to 1/2 in. Q: Will the Hobart medium duty oxy acetline kit work with "r" oxygen bottles and " mc" acetylene bottles? Says for use on refrigeration systems and those are the size bottles we use in our totes for going on roofs ect.

- A: The 770502 kit comes with an oxygen regulator with a CGA540 inlet connection and an acetylene regulator with a CGA510 inlet connection. Non-medical oxygen cylinders should have a CGA540 connection, but the acetylene regulator with the CGA510 connection will not fit onto a MC cylinder. We would recommend purchasing a separate acetylene regulator to match the cylinder.4 years agoHelpful?

i bought this kit 3yrs ago and works great i use it alot. but i changed the tip to a propain (cheaper to get filled). good brand name built to last but its not made to cut over 1 and a half inch takes alot to cut

A friend and myself each bought one of these torch kits within a week of one another. Everything worker great for a while, then we both started having issues with the gas flowing through the head. We each tried cleaning the tips, but it never really solved the problem. I bought a new tip and tried blowing out inside of the head. This seemed to help it for a while, but then more problems happened. It almost seemed like it had something to do with the valves on the torch itself. The regulators seem fine, with no drops in pressure. I use different brands of torches at work, and never came across this problem before. I would rather paid a little more and got a Harris or Victor torch kit instead. Just my two cents

Really bad

Disappointing Quality and Customer Service Experience
I purchased the Hobart Medium-Duty Torch Kit and after just one week of use, the regulator blew and started leaking gas. When I contacted Tractor Supply, they refused to honor the warranty and told me I had to reach out to Hobart directly. Unfortunately, the customer service experience with Hobart was far from pleasant. The representative I spoke with was rude, but after some persistence, she reluctantly agreed to send me a replacement regulator.
It's frustrating to deal with faulty products and poor customer service. While I eventually got the replacement part, the overall experience left much to be desired. I hope Hobart improves their product quality and customer service moving forward.
No, I do not recommend this product.
