- A: In South Carolina perennial ryegrass will likely not come back year after year. The summers are too hot for perennial ryegrass to survive. Tall fescue or bermudagrass would potentially be a better option. There may be some selective herbicides that won't damage perennial ryegrass. I bought 2 bags early sept and its been mowed twice now. I put lime and starter fert and spread manure and now I have a beautiful pasture. Water just to dampen the soil every few days. used ground works starter and just be sure to get dry bags. I rated that bad but it did make my pasture grow great and real green

Coating gimmick - Not 50 lbs of seed

This seed used to be 5 stars until they started putting that coating crap on it. The 50lb bags of seed they used to sell are now 25 lbs of seed and 25 lbs of that coating crap. The coating does not help the seed germinate at all. It's a gimmick that most people don't know and think they are buying 50 lbs of grass seed. They should give us consumers the option of buying coated or uncoated seed.

We spread this as directed 4-6 weeks ago. We watered as directed. Our yard is still not green. We see very few sprouts. We have used other brands in the past and our yard would be full and lush by now.

first order got lost - tsc did a reorder and delivery was made by fedex. 16 days after planting nothing has sprouted - except for a few onions. i've used annual ryegrass in the past with no problems with it growing, but so far i'm disappointed with no growth from the perennial ryegrass - which cost over twice as much as the annual.

The 'Content' Tag was not to be seen on the Website. The bags contain only 50% seed. The rest is coating to help germination. 35,000 square feet coverage is misleading. Application rate is 6 to 8 pounds per thousand square feet....might cover 4,000 square feet...

October & November is hard months to start growing grass. Having said that, we are doing our best. We do have spots doing better than others, however, we continually add more seed as the grass grows. Rye grass does grow pretty good here in the south. It’s a very good product.

used this product in past with no issues, got some more this year not even half off the seeds germinated my yard l has spots all over were the gras never started to grow upon closer inspection the seeds are just laying three seams that they razed their price but lowered their product

Perennial ryegrass seed

The perennial ryegrass seed grows fast and is the only grass seed I use. I enjoy the tall green grass as it is soft and my puppies enjoy running around and napping in it. This rye grass comes back each year and is beautiful! It’s great around Easter too as my toddler grandchildren love finding the colored Easter eggs.
