The Growtrax Fine Fescue Grass Seed Mixture covers 100 sq. ft. (2.08 ft. x 48 ft.) and contains seed, micro pellet fertilizer and fabric. The Fine Fescue is our deep shade variety; we recommend this variety for areas that get less than 20% of good sunlight a day. It is a great looking ornamental grass. This grass seed requires full sun and part shade to grow.

This is my second roll of growtrax. Very pleased with initial roll. Grass started coming in within first 2 weeks. Wondering how long before the biodegradable mat is gone.

The biodegradable material used for GrowTrax is designed to naturally break down around weeks 3–4, once the grass has grown in. Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate you sharing your experience so far. Germination typically occurs within 10–14 days (or 14–30 days for Bermuda or Kentucky Blue). At just 6 days in, you’re still within the early part of the expected window, so you may begin seeing sprouts very soon. We appreciate your patience and hope you start seeing positive growth shortly!

Planted a week and a half and already see a ton of sprouts, given, I did do a lot of prep work before laying it down. Used a tiller to get soil rough, put some light fertilizer and had some extra grass seeds laying around.

I bought several rolls of this and all but one look great. Not sure what happened with the one roll but only about 10% of the seed germinated the other roll were over 90%.
