The feature-packed lightweight G0948 10 in. 1/2 HP Bandsaw is a perfect entry-level machine for home or garage setups, or as an easy-to-move auxiliary saw for professional shops. With a maximum cutting height of 6-1/8 in. , you'll have as much resaw capacity as some 14 in. models, for a fraction of the price. Designed for convenience and accuracy, the G0948 features adjustable ball-bearing blade guides to prevent blade wander. It uses a 72 in. blade and accepts blades from 1/8 in. to 1/2 in. W with enough power to cut through green woods and other dense materials. The extruded aluminum fence is designed for easy attachment and removal from the rails. It has a magnified cursor scale for fast and accurate adjustments. A built-in LED work light will illuminate your workpieces and help you see your cut line better. For added safety, the on/off paddle switch has a removable disabling key. If a lightweight and affordable, yet durable, feature-rich 10 in. bandsaw is just what you and your projects need, then this is the one.

The saw itself is just fine, but the stand is very hard for one person to put together by themself. It seems to me that it could be made easier to assemble. It took me over an hour.

Miter Slot not Standard Size

Beware! The miter slot is a non-standard size and If you have any tools that require a miter slot, you may be in for a rude awakening. The miter slot is 8mmx10mm and standard sizes are 15mm, 5/8", & 3/4".

Love my new Bandsaw compared to my older saw. The 1/2 hp motor makes a big difference. Has made using much easier, faster and better cuts. Like others I believe the stand is too low. Built a platform to lift and move around. Otherwise love my Grizzly bandsaw.

It's a really decent saw for the money, perfect for the hobby shop. Yesterday I trimmed a 5.5" thick piece of walnut for turning and it did surprisingly well. I definitely had to feed slowly, but if you can't afford a bigger unit this one will do a lot. It was easy to assemble and seems quite well built.

I love this band saw. I mostly do blanks for wood carvings with it and it is perfect. I upgraded the stock blade to a Timberwolf blade and I am completely content with the performance and quality of this awesome bandsaw.

Excellent Bandsaw for a hobbiest woodworker. My 1st bandsaw and it's perfect. Don't expect to go fast through more than 3/4 lumber. Which is the bulk of my work. Does resaw . Just take your time. Love it! Awesome job Grizzley!

Easy to put together. Dust collection subpar

I just received this bandsaw and put it together right away. The manual was easy to follow. It was relatively easy to put together. The stand was shaky when putting the saw on it but is very stable after tightening the leg bolts. I was ready to use it and went to attach my l shop vacuum hose to it, but it didn't fit the dust port. Every hose that I have is too big for their multi size dust port. My 2" hose is too loose on their 2" port. The ports are inside the main port with no way to tighten the hose. Nothing fits right. I'm thinking of returning this to Grizzly because of this defective dust collection port.

The Best for the $$$$

For the money this is a great band saw. I am a beginner wood carver and use this saw to recut my wood blanks and to aid in roughing out my project. I actually have purchased two of these saws. One for my home and one for my winter home. The compact size and ease to move it around make it ideal for me. This is the only one in this price range I could find that would recut 6” high.

I just bought this saw after looking at several products. The assembly was simple and straight forward it came with the mobile base which was another reason I purchased it when I did. The only problem I have found is that when I mounted the table by the four bolts to the tilting mechanism the right front side of the table was pulled down to where the right front edge next to the blade slot is about 1/16 inch lower than the left side and I had to loosen the right front bolt to let it spring back to being level. If someone can tell me how to adjust the table tilting mechanism to bring the table level when the bolts are fully tightened, I would appreciate the help. Other than that small problem it seems to be everything it was described to be and very well suited for the projects I will use it on.

To help achieve a level table when the bolts are fully tightened, please try the following steps: Loosen all four bolts slightly: This will allow the table to adjust freely. Manually level the table: Use a level tool to ensure the table is perfectly horizontal. Tighten the bolts in a criss-cross pattern: Start with the back left, then front right, back right, and finally front left. Tighten each bolt incrementally, checking the level frequently to ensure the table remains even. If these steps do not resolve the issue, please contact our Product Support team directly.
