Weve had all kinds of wood stoves over the years. Weve had everything from small old timers to the outside Hardy wood boilers. Now that we live in a tiny house, we thought wed get a smaller wood stove for inside. Well this one has taken us about 2 weeks to figure out. It either burns blazing hot and its 90 in the house with the door and windows open or it smoldering and 65. We have finally figured out for our small house we cant stock it. We only put a pc or two in and it will last for about 2 hrs.

We replaced a very old wood stove with the Grand Teton Targhee. It looks really really nice and we cannot believe how efficient it is! Highly recommend this wood stove.

Fire smolders out with door closed due to lack of air flow.

Can’t get it to keep a fire with door shut even with airflow wide open. My husband and I have done just about everything we can to get it to work properly. Can we return and get our money back?

Well in the beginning the stove frustrated me. I was use to the old style stoves. After figuring out that you must allow more air (by leaving the door partially open) for the stove to heat up and properly work. After you get a good base of hot coals, feed it and shut the door. My elevation is almost 6000ft. I also installed a cold air intake and my chimney runs straight out the roof. Be patient with this stove and will learn to love it.

Bought this Grand Teton wood burning stove last year all it did was smoke the house out bad design Air flows not in the right place it's at the top of everything where it should be at the bottom had to drill two holes in the front so that it could draw air with the door closed because if you close the door the fire goes out and then if you open the door it smokes out your entire house instantly no matter how slow you open the door or anything even with the modifications I've done to mine to make work a little better

Great stove! At first we were hesitant because of some of the reviews but decided to take a chance and it seems most of the issues were just learning curve and user error. So far no issues and completely satisfied.

The product was excellent; the process of getting it successfully ordered was a nightmare.

This came unusable. The main air intake was welded shut, and if you closed the door, the fire would starve. In the video, it takes a minute and a half to die. I had no choice but to drill air holes or freeze. Apparently, according to Facebook and Reddit forums, this defect is common. Smokes up the house really bad, you can't get your money back, so I guess I'm stuck with this one for now but I won't make this mistake again, I usually read reviews before I purchase something like this but I was in a pinch and needed one fast so I'll be getting another one with better reviews

I have owned many stores and this is the first one I have purchased new. Wish I could get my money back. The air control system is a joke. Do not recommend.

It’s a great stove

Don’t waste your money. Barely a year old and it smokes up the room and the flame goes out when stove door is closed. It is catch 22. Either leave door ajar and deal with tons of smoke or close the door and extinguishe the flame. I have a second hand stove from a different company in a different room for more than five years and so far no issues.

I’ve had many wood stoves in my life this one by far is truly hazardous. If you are not experienced in wood stoves this stove is not for you. I regret this purchase. Poorly drafting design the box needs a higher lip so so you don’t have to continually clean out the ash every few days. The worse thing is the lack of controlling the proper airflow dangerous for a beginners and a family. I HAVE 50 years experience with woodstoves from old cook stoves to amazing custome and your typical higher quality stoves. This one by far is a NO GO!

TL;DR- this stove is cheap garbage, not worth the time and frustration, and potentially dangerous. I bought this stove in 2024, but had to wait until this year to install it, as I couldn't get my chimney lined until recently. When I unboxed it, I was extremely disappointed; many of the firebricks were broken, and the metal clips to hold them on the inside had two which were bent inward, which didn't leave enough room to install the top back row of firebricks. Welds on the outside are shoddy looking, and the right side outer panel is visibly askew. Hopefully this doesn't impact performance, as winter is coming, and it's probably too late to return it. A lot of the damage looks like it was there from the factory, not necessarily from shipping. Also, the manual has exactly ZERO assembly instructions, the entire manual is dedicated to chimney hookups, hence why it took me a while to figure out where the ash plug goes, and why there were parts in the box which were obviously for the next stove level up, as this one doesn't have adjustable air flow. The first few curing fires smoked everywhere, even with good air intake and a newly lined chimney that is far above roof line and should draw perfectly. Almost impossible to get it to run without the door cracked, and if the ash plug is raised or removed it goes like a blowtorch and overfires badly. I don't think there's any fixing this, it just seems like both bad design, and poor quality control. I know it's cheap, but this could kill someone if it smoked back in the night. I'll be keeping a very close eye on it during this winter, and will update this review accordingly.

I have had nothing bit problems with the unit and have been talking with customer service for over two heating seasons. They have replaced two motherboard an exhaust fan, a blower fan, door, and the igniter, rod. I continue to have problems with the pins coming out the hinges and door falling off one hinge. I cant put it on high or the unit over heats and goes in to safety lock. So I can only heat on medium or low. At first I thought the customer service was grat fixing the issues I had bit they continue and now it seems they are making excuses and investing what the problem can be. Maybe waiting for the warranty to run out by making the responses longer in between. Not saying ever unit is like this but I would be worried to by from them again. Because in the end I am going to have to buy again because I like my door to my stove to stay on so my house dont burn down.

This stove was about HALF the price 2 yours ago when I got it. Was looking to get another but not now That's crazy.

This is a good looking stove and I am sure that it will do well in the space we have planned for it. Make sure you read the directions well before installing it. I had read on some reviews that it gave off a very bad smell the first time that it is used and this is true. It is because of needing to cure the heat resistant paint that is used on the stove and the manual clearly says that you should start a fire in the stove when it is outside before installation. The other reviews that I saw are that it does not stay going unless the door is open. I suspect that the installer did not look at the manual again. It clearly states that this stove needs a minimum of 15 feet chimney to have a proper draft to allow it to suck air in at the bottom and run efficiently. Since I only had 6 feet of pipe when I test fired it in my driveway, I experienced the need to keep the door cracked open to maintain a burn. I suspect that this will go away when properly installed. The only problem that have had is with the delivery company. Apparently the truck they use to deliver it is only a 2 wheel drive and can not back up a driveway that is a little steep. Because of this they just dropped the stove at the end of my driveway next to a dirt road and blocking my neighbor's driveway. They did not even call me prior to delivery to make sure they could deliver it. Nor did they call me when they delivered it to let me know it had arrived. I found out it was there when I got home that evening. I think that if it didn't weigh 400 pounds that someone might have been tempted to take in in the middle of the night. They sent someone out the next day with an appliance dolly and with my help we got it pushed up the driveway to my garage. I have been pleased with the stove so far and I look forward to having it in my home this winter. If my opinion changes then I will write another review.

Great burning stove, put one in my tiny house and it heats our 14x40 nicely! I am gonna add a cold air intake for better efficiency.

It seems like a good quality stove until you install it.  Leaks smoke and fine ash   I’m removing and replacing the stove after 3 months of use   Very unhappy

Awesome little stove! I did have the problem with closing the door and the fire dies... Sealed all exhaust pipes and put a cap on top, that helped but fire still died when you closed the door. Took everything apart (not hefting this back and doing it all over again). Looked over diagrams in manual and called Mr Heater number. Air hole in front "secondary air inlet" was supposed to 1/8", I drilled it out to 1/4" and now have no problems. Welds all good. Heats my 30x30 garage. Also installed the rear electric fan AND an exhaust reclaim blower. Definitely helps heat the space fast. This is not an old style Buck stove from the 70's, I have one in the house and love it, but this is more of a get the fire hot - close it up with good dry wood - it almost gassifies the wood. NOT huge raging for like you're used to. Very efficient. Almost to the point of making charcoal. But still gets super hot.-

This is our second time purchasing this stove, our first one was great. This time, the door came very crooked, and now the paint is all chipping off the top of the stove. I’ve tried reaching out and no response. Very unhappy with the quality

Other than the fact that the front door fell off while it was roaring with fire. It's an ok woodstove. One of the pins that hold the door on came loose and the entire door feel off while in use. This was during the first 2 months of use. Thank GoD my husband was still awake and heard it. CHECK YOUR DOOR AND THE PINS

I purchased this stove a few weeks ago at Tractor Supply. It’s a decent stove, but definitely doesn’t heat up to 2000sq ft as it states. I have a 1200 sq ft home. I was hoping this stove would do as it says and heat up to 2000sq ft. Not the case. I leave all the doors open in every room, and it basically only heats the room the stove is in. The other problem is when you close the damper, just half way, the fire dies completely. It seems to be a well built stove, just doesn’t do what it claims to.

Stove works great but firebox is too small for cordwood. Any logs over 16.5 inches will need to have the ends cut off. So plan on having to chainsaw at least a half or more of your logs to get them to fit. Go with the 2500 sq ft if you plan on using cord wood. This model fits 18 inch logs. EPA stoves are more finicky to establish draft which is why people are getting smoke in the room. Once you establish draft this is not a problem. These stoves like to run hot. Newspaper under dry kindling such as untreated 2x4s should give a good heat blast to get going. Also, can use a heat gun to pre warm flue and box. I will be upgrading to the bigger one because having to cut half of the cord wood is a major pain! Besides that the stove is awesome and heats my entire house from the basement.
