The GPI HP-100 Fluid Transfer pump is a premium fuel piston hand pump that is reliable and versatile, delivering the highest flow rate in the industry year after year. It is a single solution for multiple pumping applications, suitable for pumping fuels and motor oils. The HP-100 features a Dual-Flo handle providing the user with the flexibility of operating the pump at two flow rates. A setting of 1/2-gallon per stroke cycle provides faster high-capacity flow for fuels. A 1/4-gallon setting allows for easier pumping of thicker fluids, such as motor oil, even in cold temperature conditions (-25°F / -32°C). Backed by a 2 year warranty.

Q: Twice here GPI says you cannot use a filter on this pump, yet you clearly show a filter in the pictures above. So, whats the deal?

- A: Hi, Here is what we received back from the vendor- "In the past, we recommended not using a filter with the HP-100 hand pump. We’ve performed field testing with filters on the HP-100 and it is acceptable to use, just be aware the more particles the filter picks up, the more back pressure it will cause making it harder to pump."2 years agoHelpful?
Q: The 1/2" vent plug is prone to leaking after very few uses. What is the thread size to replace it? I think it's 1/2" nptf, is it tapered or straight? Can it just be plugged or is the vent absolutely necessary?

- A: The pump has a 2" NPT tank fitting, so as long as you can mount it there shouldn't be any reason you cannot use it. The suction lift is 5 ft for hand pumps, so also insure the depth of the tank does not exceed 5 ft and you will not have any issues. Useful Gas Pump

I use this, along with a Goldenrod water filter, on my farm tank for autos, trucks, and my gasoline-powered equipment. Although not cheap, it performs extremenly well, in snow, ice, rain, and high heat.
Unlike an electric pump, I am ALWAYS in EXACT control of flow rate. This allows me to quickly gas my truck, but also accurately and safely refuel my leafblower and chain saw's 1/2 gal mix bottles, without splashing. Best pump for twice the price - well made, rugged, reliable.

I've owned 3 of these pumps. I replaced the first one because of a poor installation. Very much my fault! It operated flawlessly so the logical thing to do was acquire another one. The second one leaked around the piston seal from the beginning. I contacted GPI customer service about replacement seals. They decided to replace the unit free of charge so that they might study the problem for quality control. I received the 3rd pump, installed it with the same configuration of filter and nozzle that I had used on the prior 2 and this one leaked immediately plus extremely difficult to operate. After fussing with it for several months, the operations became unacceptable. I contacted GPI customer service again and explained the situation. Within 30 seconds the entire issue was my fault. That I had not installed nor used the equipment properly. I wanted to switch to an electric pump and was going to purchase a GPI unit. Because of the customer service attitude, I acquired the tried and true Tuthil Fill-rite pump. GPI, I will not be back!

Good pump with a modification or two

Pump accomplishes the task with relative efficiency. Easy to assemble and put into action. I replaced the plastic nozzle with an automobile style pump handle from old pump. This pump could be improved with a way to hang the handle. As it is, I have to just lay the hose and handle over the tank when not in use. A simple oversight (or cost savings) which creates a negative for the user. I also added a longer hose for the ability to fuel tractor.
Yes, I recommend this product.
