Q: Would these stakes be strong enough to stake a growing tree in a field? What type of wood are they? We have sourced a hardwood stake before (oak), but am not sure we need oak.

- A: these stakes are pine. These stakes should work for your use. You will want to pound the stakes in at a 70-80 degree angle, point of the stake towards the tree, to a depth of approximately 3 ft. This will leave one foot above ground level.6 years agoHelpful?

These worked great for what I was needing, I only needed something to stick up to flag the lawn guys that I had flowers planted and please don’t run over. A couple of taps on top and I was done, no splitting etc
