Q: How many chickens does this feed

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. The feeder holds up to 8 pounds of feed at a time. For a small flock (5–10 chickens), this may last a day or two. Medium flocks (10–20 chickens) may need daily refills, and large flocks (20+ chickens) will likely require multiple refills per day. The adjustable legs help set the proper height to reduce spillage and accommodate different bird sizes.

Great ideas, poor execution

I really like the idea of the adjustable legs. I've always had the problem of the chickens getting wood chips in their food. The adjustable legs fixed this problem. I'm using chick starter crumbles for my baby chicks and the food just doesn't drop down as they eat it. So I have to shake the container to get the food to drop down. This causes the next problem; the base does not lock securely to the body of the feeder. I've had it come loose more than once when I shake it. The idea was great, but the execution needs work.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Not The Greatest!

Comes apart to easy. And doesn't let the food continue to come out like it's supposed to.

Feed gets stuck

Feed gets stuck and doesn't distribute to the feeding pan. The whole center can be full of feed but gravity can't get it to the chickens.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Doesn’t Work

I was really hoping this feeder would work perfect. Unfortunately it’s more a pain and wasteful. I had about 4lbs of layer pellets in it and it got clogged and didn’t drop anymore feed down. When I went to pick it up to get feed down the whole bottom came off spilling 4lbs of feed everywhere. Thankfully I was still in the chicken run so they could eat it up and we didn’t waste all of it. The adjustable legs and cover on top would have made it a perfect feeder if it actually worked.
