Farm Innovators 1,500W Drain-Plug De-Icer for All Rubbermaid Stock Tanks Up to 300 gal.

Very difficult to stop leaks.

It was keeping the water warmer than expected and then it over heated and scorched the outlet. My older heater was working fine but thought I would start the winter with a new one.

Works great! keeps water from freezing for cows and we use another heater for the horses.

These heaters heat the water in my 100 gallon and 150 gallon tanks even in the coldest conditions HOWEVER when they’re on their way out, horses will stop drinking and jump back from the trough like they’re being shocked…even when plugged in to a grounded outlet. It must be leaking stray voltage that is not enough to trip the GFCI outlet. This has happened at multiple properties (all with new electrical outlets installed within two years). Unfortunately it’s the only deicer that plugs in the drain plugs of the Rubbermaid tanks. It’s also 1500 W so be prepared for your electric bill to go up significantly. It’s easy to install. Horses do not mess with them. Just keep an eye on the water level to make sure horses are still drinking..

NOT a universal tank heater. The plug is way too small to fit all sizes of Rubbermaid tanks and troughs. Wish I'd looked at the reviews before purchasing. Will be returning and getting one designed for Rubbermaid.

Works fantastic but IMPOSSIBLE to use without an extension cord. Constantly burns out extension cord and trips our system. Don’t want us to use extension cords? MAKE THE CORD LONGER!!!! Any plug that would fit this would not be at code because the cord is at the bottom of heater. If the cord had another 8’-10’ on it, it’d be perfect. But as is it’s unusable.

Purchased 2 heaters and 2 Rubbermaid stock tanks for reliable watering backup in severe freezing conditions. A 300 gallon tank and heater and a 50 gallon tank and heater as it is advertised as for all Rubbermaid tanks up to 300 gallon. The 300 gal tank and heater work perfect together and have not had a freezing problem to date with temp low of 17 degrees F. The 50 gal tank however to my disappointment does not have a plug to remove and therefore it does not work with all Rubbermaid tanks 300 and under as advertised. I will be returning one heater.

Last one worked for we'll over 10 years before I needed to replace it. Great product!

Works as it should

We use Rubbemaid 100 gallon stock tanks for our horse water and thus winter our old one if these quit working, I think it was worn out from many years of use and horses messing with it in low water levels. These are the best heaters that fit perfectly in the large opening in the Rubbermaid tanks. Was very happy they were in stock at my local TSC for quick pickup.

Nothing to do with the product simply was not in stock when it allowed me to order it online drove 1 hour to pick it up to find out it wasn't there even though I got the message saying my order was ready

I purchased this heater before the big ice storm. It worked perfectly and kept the water from freezing.

Product works great. The delivery was problematic. TS delivered it to the wrong property not near us and wouldn’t resolve the issue.

This does NOT fit my Rubbermaid stock tank drain hole. The hole in my tank is too small for the stub on the heater. Perhaps this is because mine is about ten years old and newer tanks have larger drain plugs, but if that's the case then it should be clearly described on the box which models it is designed for, instead of the unambiguous statement that it fits ALL Rubbermaid stock tanks. I fully admit that I am irrationally angry over this, but returning it and finding an appropriate one is going to be a huge waste of my time, and until then my horses' water is going to be freezing and they are at increased risk of colic.

I have used these for years and they do the job

Clearly fit into the original Rubbermaid drain hole. Five foot cord was adequate. Use these before and they last years if properly stored when not in use. They will need replacing every few years.

Easy to installand because it is a copper heating coil it helps prevent algae growth.

Greetings from Elko County, Purchased this product in Sparks, Nevada last week. Never used heating elements until relocating from Reno to the base of the Ruby Mountains. Super easy to install in the old 70 gallon Rubbermaid water trough. No leaks and no ice this morning. The other two water troughs had nearly 2 inches of ice. The horses drank nearly 1/3 of the water during the night and early morning. Thank you!
