Pull the shut-off lever up and lock in place (inside pellet hopper). This will allow pellets to fall into fi repot. 6. Squirt a small amount lighter fl uid or gel onto the pellets and ignite with a butane lighter or match and close the door. 7. Once the pellets have caught fi re after 5 minutes or so you can put the heat adjustment lever in the High or Low setting. 8. Keep the door closed when using the heater. If the door is open, the heater will lose its draft and the pellets will not burn properly. 9. Occasionally operate the ash clean-out handle to allow ash to drop into ash tray. 10. After several hours of use you may have excess pellets piled up at the bottom of the chute. If this happens, you will need to pull and push the ash clean-out lever, which is located in the back of the pellet heater, several times and/or use the ash clean-out tool to rake the pellets towards the front of the fi repot. This is one awesome little heater. Extremely well built and easy to put together. It's got an awesome aesthetic. It looks a lot like A cast iron wood burning stove.
I highly recommend it. It'll change the way you use your backyard in the colder months.

I mean its ok not great. The diffuser in top is too small, I see hot ash blow by the screen and around the top of the duffuser, so if next to house or gutter with leaves or any other type of combustible material you have to be careful. The heat out put you have to be within 5 ft of it to feel any of it. If it was easily returnable i would but it will probably hang around the back patio for a little bit til i decide to throw it out.

Easy to put together and looks nice, but WHERE is the heat?? You have to stand right next to it to feel any warmth. I live in southern Texas so it doesn't even get that cold here! Can't help but feel like we wasted a lot of money. DO NOT recommend.

Great ambience and vibe from this space heater! We have this heater under a metal roof back porch space to take the edge off of cool nights and it works great! Our friends and family gravitate to our back porch when we have this pellet burner fired up.
With the glass door closed and the pellet feed set on HIGH, we can feel reasonable heat 3 - 4 feet from the heater. With the pellet feed set on LOW and the glass door closed the heat can be felt up to 2 feet from the heater. Although not recommended, leaving the glass door open an inch reduces the air draft in the stove reducing the heat and pellet burn rate significantly while still leaving a pleasant flame for atmosphere.
This is not a cast iron wood burning stove but it IS a great addition to any outdoor space.Comparing this light duty pellet heater to a cast iron wood burner or propane "Buddy" style heater is a mistake.The Even Embers heater provides the desired atmosphere and look of a small stove with modest heat and is perfect with no flaws in design or quality based on the unit we purchased. Using hard wood pellets, this heater has burned with zero smoke and next to zero ash to clean out of the tray after a full evening of use. The maintenance to keep this heater running for many years should be minimal with nothing more than a quick wipe down to clean the glass and a bit of wood pellet dust off of the heater periodically.
this is a light duty, outdoor heater and will last indefinitely when kept under the cover of a roof or protective storage. cover

Maybe not quite as hot as the propane version but the addition of a visual fire makes it feel even warmer! Assembly was a breeze and the gravity feed hopper works very well but takes a minute to light. If you have pellets on hand, this is great option to propane patio heaters.

Prefer traditional pellet stove

Assembly time was about 45 minutes with two people. A very sturdy unit with decent hopper capacity. Nice ambiance from the front window which also allows user to monitor pellet flow. Provides consistent heat with little to no smoke (when running properly). A few things to note: pellets tend to drop in large bunches smothering the existing flame creating a smoke out. Lighting the pellets takes either lighter fuel or a propane torch which i find a nuisance. The whole unit gets hot so it is not kid-friendly. Overall i thought about returning it as propane heaters light quicker and are cleaner. This unit should only be used outdoors in an open space and does produce embers from top chimney that can reach 3 feet so keep away from flammable material.

Great functional product!
I put an L on the stove and have the stove in my garage And vent it outside. We have a shed garage abs a tiny house in thinking of getting a second. Spent many nights lounging in the garage for a fire. Heats up nice, easy to use, very safe, if the flame is low just giggle the ash grate and check the gravity feeder. I wouldn't think it would keep you warm in an open area, it's not raging hot.. I hang up clear plastic tarps in my garage opening and they're a few inches away and very cool. I did see some sparks with the straight pipe but haven't seen a single spark come out the pipe with my L shape. I did think about actually making this an indoor unit for an off grid tiny house. The pipe is not standard stove pipe and couldn't get it to fit right and draft right... then tried smaller pipe and got it to connect but it really wasn't drafting right and smoking.... so it truly is rated for 6" pipe. If you're more skilled could probably figure it out. For semi enclosed areas that you can reflect the heat back it works great and feels very safe.

I really wanted this to work and chose to ignore some of the other reviews warning about low heat, but it just doesn't work. You can only feel the heat when standing right next to it- NO WAY it covers 100 square feet. I have been using it in 45 degree ambient temps for reference.

Although the idea is very cool. It is not stable. Mine has blown over in the wind several times. It is so damaged it is about to head to the dump. Unless you have a covered area with little to no wind, I would not purchase. It does not produce very much heat.

This pellet heater is large so keep that in mind for storage. This was easy to assemble and took less than 20 minutes to put together. This is a good addition to the patio for chilly nights without gas or electricity.

The Even Embers Pellet Heater is a very neat patio heater. Hubby and I love firing it up and gazing at the huge, gorgeous flames! It is well-made and feels like it will last for years. The pellets are poured into a hopper and get fed slowly into the fire. My husband says it's pretty simple to assemble and begin using. From what I've learned, whether it smokes much or makes soot and ash or not, is according to the quality of the pellets you use. It does put off decent heat, so if your patio is enclosed at all, it will definitely warm up the area. We'll be using this heater this winter for sure!
