The Earthquake Victory Rear Tine Tiller features a 209cc, 4-cycle Viper engine that drives a heavy-duty cast-iron transmission. This gear box is equipped with precision-engineered bronze gears that offer exceptional strength and durability, season after season. Rear-mounted, Counter Rotating Tines (CRT) offer impressive soil turning capability when breaking new ground, while the 16" tilling width makes it easy to maneuver for tilling and weeding between rows during the growing season. Stop and change directions or effortlessly turn in tight spaces and near fences without having to shift gears thanks to the Victory's Instant Reverse handle. Take advantage of the comfortable handlebar and easily operate with 2- or 1-hands in order to keep footprints out the seed bed, and a 3-position adjustment aids operators of all heights. Side mounted tine shields control unwanted dirt throw and direct it away from neighboring plants for cleaner rows as 13" self-propelled pneumatic wheels float over rough soil and ruts. Startup Problems but Then it was Great.

Interesting purchase experience. After lots of research, concluded this machine was the best value for a rear tine, counter rotating tiller. Bought it in a box, assembly was not trivial. Bring your metrics. But it seems to be well built and solid.
Added oil and gas, set the controls and wouldn't start. Mutliple pulls. Tried again each of the next two days. Nothing. Called tech support and they said return it. Well, tried one more time before loading it my truck and, amazingly, it started. It probably took all those pulls to load the carburator. My guess.
It tilled beautifully. Just what I wanted. A middle sized, maneuverable strong tiller. You can't let it dig too deep because it hangs up but working gradually deeper is the trick.

First pull start! make sure u add oil and check transmission oil level. This tiller gets it done start w lowest setting and process deeper in stages. I love the reverse feature it gets u out of tight spots. One of my favorite purchases!

Good tiller for all but extreme applications

This has been, overall, a good tiller but it is not quite what I was hoping for. Where I am at I am breaking new ground for a garden; to call it "ground is generous as it is almost completely clay and loaded with rocks (big rocks!). It has gotten the job done, after multiple passes, both to remove rocks and breakdown the soil, but, as the old song says, "...there's a whole lott'a shacken goin' on!" It works for what we needed but it just takes time...

This machine is a piece of junk! The CRT dig well but the wheels won't pull it, It just sits there spinning.. Think about it you have wheels going clockwise and tines going counter clockwise they are fighting each other and the tines are winning. I'm having to push this thing and it's like pushing a weighted sled on a football field I couldn't even get a 1/4 of my garden done because it wore my butt out.

Worst tiller ever

I purchased one of these tillers last summer. The first time I used it, it stopped working. I had to take it to a repair shop to get it going again. They told me they had seen problems with that product on more than one other occasion. I used it after it was repaired and had no problems with it. I stored it through the winter as per the manual that came with the tiller. Today I got it out of storage, checked the oil and grease levels. They were fine. I tried to use it to till a spot for a deer food plot. It had absolutely zero power and stopped worked after I tilled about 10 feet. It will Not restart, now. I am VERY unhappy with this product and feel like I have thrown away over $800!! For a piece of crap! I will never buy another Earthquake product, and I definitely do NOT recommend purchasing one of these tillers.

Stupid wheel engagement design.

They don't tell you that you can't disengage the spinning tongs from the wheel drive transmission until after you read the poorly written manual. You have to go through a cumbersome procedure to remove wheel cotter pins, adjust the wheels on both sides, then reinsert the pins to make the tiller "free rolling".
This is a very stupid (very stupid) design flaw.

I just broke up about a 20 x 20 area. First time with a lot of roots. I had to clean roots from the tines a couple of times. But no big deal and 0 problems with the tiller. It's not light weight and if you can handle it it's a great tiller. I'm happy with it.

Once you get this baby assembled and fire it up, it will tear threw dirt like it is nothing. My property has a TON of rocks just under the soil and this thing performed beautifully. If you hit a big one, just let off the handle and it will disengage the tines or just lift her up a bit and she’ll float over it and keep eating.

For the money its a fine machine. Well built and easy to put together. Our soil is rocky and this machines bucks pretty good so hold on. Make sure you set the handle bar at the proper height because it will buck into your gut. It was a good purchase.

I'm in the Rocky area of NW Georgia and this unit doesn't care. I chose to leave the side panels off and puts the rocks right out so I can pick them up. Use the depth guide, clear the tines after each row and it works great. BTW, It started 1st pull after set up! Love this unit!
