Charcoal enthusiasts, take heart! With this Dyna-Glo vertical offset smoker, you can now smoke your favorite foods with your favorite wood chips and your favorite fuel source, charcoal! Vertical smokers are ideal for capturing maximum smoke flavor, so we've included 6 height-adjustable cooking grates, with a total of 1,176 sq. in. of cooking space, to accommodate different sizes and types of food. Since indirect heat is ideal for slow cooking (and infusing smoke flavor), the offset functionality of this smoker is designed to keep direct heat away from the food, which helps to prevent food on the bottom racks from cooking too fast. The porcelain enameled charcoal chamber is designed to keep briquettes stacked tightly for improved burn efficiency. Q: I've used smokers over 30 yrs., never owned a vertical. I've ALWAYS used split wood. This smoker says charcoal or wood chips, not gonna work for me. Will it fit split wood? I cook for up to 16 hrs. at times. Doesn't seem like chips would get the job done.

This item was very easy to put together. Followed easy instructions. Also followed the instructions for "seasoning" the smoker. Did see there were a couple areas that will need liquid gasket and i think the doors should have a gasket as well. Easy to buy and do this yourself. Even with the small added expense this smoker is a great deal.

New to Smoking

I’m not giving 5 stars as I have only used this twice. And we are completely new to smoking. But I will say this.... it was very easy to put together. I assembled with my 12 year old son. I love that the heat is in the offset. Took me awhile to get my stuff ready to smoke. But I am sure I’ll get better with time. The meat we smoked was delicious. I would tell anybody who was considering this smoker, to get it.
