Q: Is this safe for my neutered male goats? I was told never to feed them grain, especially corn, for health reasons.

- A: Yes, the block is safe for wethers (neutered ram/goat). I’m assuming his concern with feeding grain is the risk of urinary calculi, which is ultimately stones caused by excessive amounts of phosphorus or calcium… this can happen with too much grain and poor management. Ideally you want a Calcium to Phos ratio of at least 2:1 to help avoid the risk of urinary stones. This block exceeds that and is safe to feed.11 months agoHelpful?

Let their other food get low if they ignore this

Initially my goats ignored this, then I stopped the other feed to force their interest. I only had to do that once. After they were "forced" by lack of alternatives to eat it one or two days, they now go to it on their own on and off along with other feed. Now they use it like a supplument. They eat it at a reasonable rate, not too fast and not too slow so it doesn't end up being wasted. Along with other feed, this lasted 4 goats 2 weeks.

I've fed this block for years.goats used to love it.i noticed it was darker and the ingredients is different.didnt see the probiotics in the ingredients either.it stays together better but goats don't like it.
