My wife has chickens. We bought 50 a couple months ago, she got another 25 when they got too old for the store and got a discount. My Grandkids love to help her feed the chickens and gather eggs. They love coming to Tractor supply to buy feed and play with the toys and go carts.

With 11 chickens we thought we picked the best organic feed (the other brand) but one day decided to give this one a try and let me just say, our total count for daily eggs laid went from 6 on average to a dozen plus a day. They are more active and loud which is a great sign.

Crumble really should be smaller. I can't believe your Corporate policy feeds this also to their newly arrived chicks..I was in today and watched those poor babies struggling with this feed. Organic chick starter you use is the same size. These pieces are just too big. I purchase it when it's the only organic food on the xhelf.

Chickens eat it. 8 Hens go through a 40# bag per week. I supplement with organic scratch too. There is a lot of dust and mashed crumble. Hens still eat it though, even the mash. I buy it cause it’s organic and had pretty decent reviews. It’s overpriced for what you get.

My sweet and sassy picky eaters will only eat this layer crumble. Has to be the organic one. I trust my ladies, and this is what they want. Everything else I've tried for them gets left untouched, and often the wild birds won't even eat it. Makes you wonder. If wild birds and even rats and mice don't want the other pellets or crumbles how can they possibly be edible? You know who finally takes it? My nemeses the leaf cutter ants. I suspect they are using them as lego style building materials for their mansions and castles and tunnels all fueled by my decimated trees and rose bushes. Off topic but ceder mulch really makes a huge difference in protecting your trees and such from the nasty and highly efficient little buggers. I know this for sure because this year I wasn't able to apply it around the property and boy have the leaf cutter ants flourished like never before.

Drastic Difference from other Layer Feeds

Our girls love this food. Their egg shells are nice and thick with healthy yolks when on this feed (we supplement it with fresh fruits and veggies). We learned just how good the Dumor feed is when the local Tractor Supply was out of it for two trips in a row and we were forced to buy another brand. The egg shells became thin and the flock seemed stressed a few days after the switch. It clearly was not just a coincidence because we ordered the Dumor Organic layer feed online as soon as we saw the problem and about a week after being back on it, their egg shells were strong again and the flock started returning to normal. Our unplanned experiment has made us dedicated Dumor customers.

Too fine, wasted feed.

My local Tractor supply stopped carry the feed I have been using and this is the second feed that has not worked out with my birds. The feed is too fine and it gets knocked onto the ground and the chickens are wasting twice as much as their other feed. It just results in a waste of money. I have been told my location cant stock it, so I either pay for shipping or drive 2 hrs round trip to get it from a different store. Not what I call customer service.
