The Double-Tuf 9 qt. Hookover Goat Trough Feeder is a great little feeder for goats, sheep, alpacas and llamas. Ideal in creep pens or when feeding multiple animals together. The unique design helps reduce feed waste while promoting animal safety and improved health. The galvanized steel grid forms six feeding slots which helps keep boss animals from pushing others out while eating. The grid also adds strength to the feeder, and its reinforced hooks provide extra support on the ends. Made of tough, impact-resistant, high-density polyethylene which protects against warpage, stress cracks and UV damage. Universal secure mounting on any 2-by-wide board or wire livestock panels makes this a great indoor/outdoor trough for barns, yards and show pens. Mounting hardware included; light assembly with a screwdriver required. Measures 37.75 in. L x 8.44 in. W x 4.72 in. H and holds 9 qt. (2.25 gal.).

Not very sturdy

I bought this a few years ago, and was somewhat disappointed. It works as long as you have only a few animals eating out of it, and they are not fighting over it or banging on the feeder. I really liked this feeder the first year. I had two of the gentlest lambs I've ever seen, and it worked great. However, once I tried to use it again the next year, for four normal lambs, one of the hooks (Not sure what to call them?) broke really quickly. I put it away, and didn't get it back out till this year. Because I increased my flock faster than my supplies, I ran out of other feed pans, and had to use it again. I replaced the missing hook with wire, and tried it. I was feeding four slightly smaller lambs this time. The remaining two hooks promptly broke. I still used it by wiring it on to the fence, but it was very disappointing. I expected it to last a bit longer. I have barely used it. In summary, this feeder will work great for you if you only plan to use it for a very few, gentle animals. If you plan to feed very many, or if they are not very gentle with their feed pans, I would recommend you buy something sturdier.

Seems quite sturdy!

We got one of these to minimize the mayhem when it's time to give our sheep any supplemental feed...the pans-on-the-ground method is too crazy! We are hanging this where we can fill it over a fence...and we are going to get a couple more so that there is a nose space for everyone. :) It was just a little bit of a struggle to get the wire frame bolted on...the spacing on the holes wasn't perfect, but I got it. The whole thing does seem very sturdy, and seems like good value for the price.

Third one I have purchased. This one the screw holes did not match up. Retured to TS and the issue was resolved. Poor quality control that the screw holes did not match. This is the only one that has had this issue.
