The Dog Palace CRB Palace Premium Insulated Dog House has up to 4 in. of real foam (styro and EPS) insulation in each panel to keep your dog warmer during the winter and cooler during the summer. Sized for extra large or multiple dogs, the insulated dog house features a self-closing insulated door, a raised sloped floor for easy clean-up and repositionable windows for summer cross ventilation. This dog house is also twice the volume of the Dog Palace. It's ideal for pets of all life stages, including extra-large breeds.

Q: Does the heater work like a thermostat? Or does it stay on all the time? How much does it cost to run for the winter with the temperature ranging from 50’s to low 35.?

- A: Please see the answer from the manufacture below. The heater has a thermostat. The fan on the heater stays on all the time but the heating element does not kick in until the temperature drops 5 degrees below the set temp until it hits the set temp. The cost to run it would be less than a 300-watt light bulb. Q: I have 2 older Border Collies that sleep together. They weigh 45lbs each. Will they stay warm Inside without the heater?? How warm is it compared to the outside?? Have one that chews cords at times. Can you use straw with the heater? They love straw. TY

- A: The insulation in the CRB Palace will trap the dog's body heat making it approximately 20 degrees warmer. You can read about how insulation works on our blog: http://asldoghouses.blogspot.com/2021/07/how-do-insulated-dog-houses-work.html Straw can be used with the heater but you will need to clean out the heater at the end of the season as straw will create dust inside the heating unit. Also, you will need to keep the straw well away from the heater so that it is not drawn into the heating unit.4 years agoHelpful?

Q: If it’s typically 25 degrees warmer inside the house, does that equate in the summer as well?

- A: The outside air will warm the house no matter what, but insulation slows down the transfer of heat from outside to inside the house. As the outer layer warms up, conduction will transfer the heat through to the inner layers. To slow this process down, we insulated our houses with EPS foam, which has a low thermal conductivity. That means that it doesn't transfer heat well, so it's harder for the heat to get inside the house, thereby slowing down the conduction process. The dog's body heat is what warms the house. You can remove the windows for cross ventilation to keep the dog's heat out.4 years agoHelpful?

This dog house is everything as advertised. Very sturdy, easy to put together (took me about 15 minutes by myself), and insulated. The plastic walls are approximately 2 inches thick and insulated with spray foam. The roof is approximately 1.5 inches thick, also with spray foam. The floor is very sturdy - approximately 2-3 inches thick with spray foam. Plenty of room for a large dog. My 100lb Doberman fits comfortably with some room to spare. Very pleased with the quality of construction and ease of assembly. Highly recommend this house.
