Not worth it!

I bought this about a year ago and it's nothing but trouble. The stock string is trash, I've never gone through a roll so fast. I replaced the stock deflector shield as it's Way too small and doesn't stop anything. And now the string feed doesn't work, I have to manually pull the string out, about every 15 seconds. And I haven't yet charged it even 10 times.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Ready to get beat up?

Dewalt failed on this design by making the guard too small. If you look at most weedeaters (I currently have 3) you will notice this has a much smaller guard. It will throw stuff from above your head and very hard. Must wear thick pants and eye protection or you will get beat up. Otherwise it's a great machine. Very powerful. Worth paying for the 60V. Not sure if this is a newer version considering the previous reviews. Whoever designed this obviously has never used a weedeater. Guess I'll be burning up wearing thick clothing when it's 100 degrees outside. I have the pole saw ant it is excellent.

False advertising

I bought this product in the store. Their box uses false advertising to trick you into thinking the battery is better than it really is. The trimmer is labed as a 60v trimmer with a 9ah battery. No where on the box does it say that the 9ah rating is ony when the battery is operating at 20v which the trimmer doesn't. I have reported them to the ny attorney general and considering sueing myself for false advertising.

MAKE sure to check and see if the battery is in the BOX BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE. seems the battery are right on top and OFTEN stolen. Had this delivered and store checked other packages and they are ALL missing the batteries TOO.. still awaiting a fix from store.

This is my second Dewalt 60V tool I purchased. A few months back I had purchased my first battery operated chainsaw. The chainsaw exceeded my expectations and worked as well as previous gas powered chainsaws I've used, all without any of the frustrations and problems of a gas engines. We had received a lot of rain recently and we have an acre and a half to maintain. It was at this point I decided to purchase my Dewalt 60V cordless trimmer. The tool has as much power as my gas powered trimmers, but none of the frustrations with gas engines. The battery life has a reasonable capacity, however the work demand is something to be definitely considered. Since I know have two (2) 60V tools, the two batteries, meet our needs.

This is a terrific machine. I own many trimmers incl other cordless machines and this is the best for the least amount of money. They battery is the correct one as it has a lot of run time. Always use the correct size line and you'll be happy. I do big banks along ditch and run it on low for longest run time.Great value.
