Great Machine, faulty parts.

This ice cream maker is amazing for what it’s meant to do. I think this is super easy to use and it makes ice cream well, but it seems like one of the appliances is misshapen. I first thought it was user error, but I've made ice cream about five times and everytime I have to hold the top down until it really gets going. When I got tired of holding down the lid for the 25 minutes, I’ve now resorted to putting some dumbbells on top of the lid to keep it down. Something is wrong within the top, paddle, somewhere. If I don't hold the top down, then the ice cream does not form properly. It's a bit of a pain and isn’t normal. We were gifted this earlier this year, but haven’t used it much since this problem has started occurring.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Please do not place weights on the lid; instead, confirm the freezer bowl is fully seated, the paddle is positioned correctly, and the lid is properly aligned and locked, and inspect the components for warping or damage; replacement parts are also available on Cuisinart.com if needed. My Ice Cream Maker is Faulty

While I think this is super easy to use and it makes ice cream well, my appliance is misshapen.
