Q: What Hp is required for this 48” tiller?

1 Answer
  • A: A 48-inch CountyLine tiller is not necessarily a "light duty" model, but its performance in tough soil depends on the tractor's horsepower. This size is generally suitable for tractors in the 15–25 HP range, while tougher, compacted soil requires more power and a smaller tiller, such as a 36-inch or even a 42-inch model.

Not a good tiller for commercial use.

I used the tiller for a couple of years and for the amount of time I used it, I was surprised that the tines wore right off it so it would only cut lines. I had to purchase new tines that were very expensive. In addition, I could not get the bolts off as they corroded so I had to cut all 72 off with a disk grinder. With the new tines it cultivates well.

Be very cautious

Used this unit just a few times. Seal blew out and had to repair it. Upon inspection by mechanic, the inside of the gear box was totally rusted and pitted. looked like it was a year old inside when i only had it a few months. i have noticed this with other equipment ordered from TSC. Looks like all items sat out in the rain and weather for a long time.

False Advertisement

Seems so so. Putting it together now but what really peeved me off is that the site states MADE IN USA with is false. Unit was Assembled in US out of Chinese parts....the thing is literally covered in Made in China Decals.
