Great trap

I bought this trap a few months ago and have caught several possums and several cats. Add a little bait and it works great. Not sure why the bad reviews, it has worked great for me. I do add a little oil to the spring and the moving parts and have had no problems. Well worth the money.

I have one of these so called great live traps here. It has been all but destroyed by any animals it has caught. The last one in it ..a racoon which it is designed for tore part of the bottom out and destroyed the trigger mechanism beyond repair. I would never buy another type of trap from Tractor Supply...I only wish they would give me a refund for a major defective item..

Bad design raccoon trap.

Caught a raccoon. The raccoon bent the main door and also bent the floor tripping flap. Could not reuse the trap. Also the raccoon got hurt by this trap. The feet of the raccoon were cut badly. This trap needs to be redesigned.

The medium animal trap I purchased was very well built. It worked perfectly to catch an adult cat without any harm done. The materials used are sturdy, it looks to resist corrosion. It should last for years. Not cheap, but durable.

I love this thing! I have a sanctuary for cats with leukemia. One of my new cats got behind the dryer, tore out the ductwork and went under the house. He couldn’t get out so I knew he was safe. But he also couldn’t get back in the house. I tried for three days to get this little booger out. Putting food and water out so that he at least had that. Finally I ordered this trap. It didn’t work the first time because I set it wrong so of course the door didn’t go down when he went in there to eat the food. Once I corrected that mistake, he was in there within 15 minutes. Now he’s in the house and warm and fed, and the door to the utility room is shut and the repairman will be here to fix the ductwork Monday!

I haven't used this trap, yet, but there is no safe way to release an animal. I don't know if it will trap a semi-feral cat, but my initial impression is I am going to get bit, on release, if it does.

Opossum catching trap!!

I had been noticing an opossum on my cameras out by my chicken house every night. So I got on the website and ordered this animal trap to be delivered to me that day. The guy dropped it off that afternoon. I was super excited and happy. I love how easy it is to set up and use. We caught a opossum out by our chicken house on the 1st night! A week later we caught another one. I was so impressed.

So far caught and humanely released four racoons. With each racoon caught the trigger plate bends more and more. I can see the negative reviews point. If it’s a very large or strong animal it may very well be able to escape. Over time the trap will rust or eventually bend to the point of being inoperable. It’s good for a few uses and small populations that need to be removed. Definitely over priced.
