Using them in the vertical position, or on larger logs with knots can cause them to fall off, or be damaged. To half split, or quarter split . . . ???

The splitter was a game changer, I have thoroughly enjoyed having it. Have done my piles and carried in the truck to a friend's house and got his piles all in one day. Enough for the year. I only wished I didn't have to rotate each piece split in half - in order to split in quarters.
Then I found the 4 - way wedge.
Definitely an asset to the system, makes the fast process even faster. And if the log is not going to make 4 same size splits . . . All good, different sizes never complain in a fire. LOL Variety is the spice of life.
4 - Way Wedge slips over the original wedge with ease, and comes off just as easy.
Very pleased with this addition.

The side wedges are too small and doesn’t go all the way through bigger rounds. Not worth the trouble, split it twice and it’s done without trying to pull the wood all the way apart.
No, I do not recommend this product.
