Stumbles out the gate, great once sorted

Purchased this to do what it's supposed to, spray chemical weed/insect control (I also got the boom sprayer and a spare chem tank) at my 5 acres and my in-laws 10 acres. Out of the box, missing the wand extension (tube/spray tip on the front of the in-line hand held shut off valve). Call to Chapin, they shipped the 'supposed' part...nope, wrong part...from an entirely different sprayer. Second call, finally get the correct part. While I was waiting though, I decided a 15 foot hose, and the in-line spray wand wasn't going to cut it for me. Ordered a 50 foot hose (3/8" x 50' epdm hose) and a pistol grip sprayer. Once I had the last part, I assembled it onto my quad and tested it out with plain water in both the chem tank and water tank. This is looking like it may work quite well...except for a few slight leaks. Not a big problem for me though. Tighten a few hose connections things are doing better. Boom sprayer covers an honest 7-8 feet from the two spray heads, provided wand reaches a good 20 feet high, passable for what I envision. Load it up with weed killer, fill the main tank and let's give this a proper work out. Holy, why did I not get this earlier than NOW? Spraying with the boom is very satisfying, and not walking my hillside 5 acres...well my knees are thanking me. Unwrap the 50' hose (that I added) and test out the alternate spray want. Good Lord, this is going to make things easier around the house for pest control (was doing weed control for now). It really should come with at least a 30' hose (not 15'), but my 50' sure hits a sweet spot for my use.

Good Idea, Really badly made.

The concept is a good one to eliminate having a separate sprayer to prevent cross contamination, but this unit is so poorly made its not worth the headache. Upon first assembly you have to make sure all the shavings from production drilling are out of the tank. Otherwise it will get sucked into the pump. It had two handfuls of plastic shavings inside the tank. The drain plug hangs below the level of the feet on the bottom, ensuring it will snap off or mangle the drain cap if it is set on a flat surface like the garage floor. The retention clips on either side of the pump housing will give way and the attached hoses blast off under pressure soaking everything around the unit. Like weed killer into the flower bed and all over the yard before it could be shut off. The retention clips are thin and soft flexible plastic, not suited at all to the design. The siphon tube in the switch tank has a weighted end to ensure it rests on the bottom of the tank. It does this really well when it comes completely off the siphon tube and you have to empty the entire chemical tank, remove all the plumbing and try to find some way to attach it more securely. The check valve on the siphon tank doesn't seal well. Its a really poorly made plastic plunger and O ring setup. As a result when you change tanks you have to put a cork in the port or it will continue to leak all over the workshop. You can check for dirt in the plunger, clean it out, re-seat it, lube it, nothing will stop the dripping but a cork or an empty tank. The on/off inline switch is the cheapest they could source to meet a price point and mine failed within 3 uses. The same goes for the pump. It has failed 3 separate times needing replacement within the first year. I will say that even though wait times at Chapin are really long (90 to 120 min) they do send out replacement parts with a minimal of hassle. Mailing times in my experience are about 4 weeks, so don't hold your breath. Like I said its a good idea but very poorly produced. I sincerely regret making this purchase instead of several separate sprayers.

Super easy

Sprayer works fantastic! Really nice when adding water. However I read the directions hooked it all up, filled both tanks would not prime. Read the trouble shooting instructions for priming that did not work. There are 2 check valves in the suction side one was in backwards located under the pump. took me a while to find that one.

Buyer beware. Stick with the basic sprayers.

Never could get it to work for more than a minute at a time. I like the concept but I should have heeded others warning about the thing not working. Plus the way the box was faded and taped up, I think I got a sprayer that somebody had returned.
