The solid shank is made of hardened steel, reducing theft by augmenting break strength over conventional coupler locks. Works with 1 7/8", 2" and 2 5/16" coupler sockets. Features coupler lock and two keys.

So far so good.

I had been using a harbor freight lock, I barely tapped that; and it fell apart. I looked at several locks while at the tractor supply store, and upon visual inspection, I found this one to at least look more well built than the other few on the shelf, and surely more than the harbor freight lock. It took me some searching online to come to this decision. After reading these reviews, I find it to be similar to the master ball lock I had looked for. Hopefully it’s theft resistant, won’t corrode on me, and it looks compatible with the ball on the trailer.

I couldn’t get it to unlock, so I took a hammer and barely hit it once on the side that locks and it came right off!
