Q: I’m confused, the product details states this fence has “3 in. x 3 in. gradual openings at the bottom of the fixed knot woven wire” but answers to that question don’t mention anything related to 3”! What is the actual spacing on this wire fence material?

1 Answer
  • A: This product has 9 horizonal line wires spaced to 49 inches tall with a 12-inch vertical stay wire spacing and a roll length of 660 feet. From the bottom of the fence the horizonal line wire spacing is as follows. 5" 5" 6" 6" 6" 7" 7" 7". There is no 3" spacing in this particular product. This is a clerical error, and we are working to fix this. Thank you for your patience.

Q: Would this fence stand up to goats?

1 Answer
  • A: The strength of the line wires and 12" spacing of the 949-12 Solidlock will work well for goats. The 12" vertical spacing allows a horned animal to push its head through the fence and most animals can manipulate it's head around enough to pull in back through. The bottom spacing will be 5" X 12" this opening may be large enough for small kids to get through. If the larger opening at the bottom concerns you for kids. The 4" X 4" Bekaert Sheep and Goat fence may be the way to go.

Q: I am looking for 3" wide x 4" high Pro (1,300lb + with solid lock at 5' high. Is that available to order? Item number? Thanks

1 Answer
  • A: We do not have that particular style as our spacing on our Solidlock Pro gradually increases as you go up. The 60" tall fence in this category that is closest would be item number 118218. To see the spacing of our Solidlock Pro products that are 60" high check out this link: https://fencing.bekaert.com/-/media/Brands2017/Fencing/Files/Postcard-Solid-Lock_Cattle.pdf?la=en One more product to consider would be item number 118248 which is 61" high. This product starts at 3" openings at the bottom and gradually increases. See the spacing chart here: https://fencing.bekaert.com/-/media/Brands2017/Fencing/Files/Postcard-Solid-Lock_Game.pdf?la=en If you would like to speak to one of our Fence Pros, reach out to us here: https://fencing.bekaert.com/en/contact

Q: The vertical spacing is 12”, but what is the spacing between line wires?  Your website says for goats fence should be 4” x 4”. 3” or 12”,but never 6”. I can’t find any specs under than 12” vertical spacing.

Hole sizes are 6x12" rather than the 3x3"

The squares are more like 6x12". No way you can use this for goats. Advert says 3x3. Definitely not that size.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We would have been better off just buying field fence. To be 12.5 ga. This stuff breaks very easy.

Hoping for the best.

The wire is good and strong, but in my opinion I think the holes are too big for goats. I have not put them in the fence yet so I'm not sure how well it will work.
