- A: On a severe terrain change the fence may need a bias cut. Bias cut is the process of cutting a few inches of wire out of slack line wires caused by steep terrain changes to tighten them up individually. Q: We are looking for fence to build rings around small trees to keep the deer from eating them. Will this fence stand up on its own with a 5 ft diameter? We plan on using one T post for support.

- A: This product in a 5' diameter circle should keep the deer out. However, the product will not stand alone if any animal pressure is placed against it, it will collapse. If you are going to use the T-Posts you mention as a rigid backbone this fabric should work just fine. Drive 4 or 5 T-Posts in a circle around the tree, place the wire fabric around the outside of the T-Post circle and tie the wire fabric to said T-Posts, and you should be just fine. Deer tend not to jump over a fence into a small, confided space but there is always that possibility but highly unlikely.a year agoHelpful?

Strong AND lightweight

I've been using high tensile field fence for 5 years and I love it for my sheep. I wish it came in a bigger variety of spacing! The lightweight means I can put up long stretches of fencing by myself, something I can't do with 'regular' weight field fence.

I bought this the other day based on the good reviews on it. I am totally disappointed ☹️. My crew came to install it and couldn’t even stretch it. It easily broke. I have to replace all. It wasn’t even to save money, it was based on the reviews and comparing it to Red Brand. Spend the few extra dollars and get the Red Brand!!

I put up a 6' tall dog fence. 48" field fence overlapping in the middle & bottom of fence folded in to prevent digging under. There are concrete blocks setting on the bottom of the fence. Fence is stapled to posts & a 6' blind is up. A secure situation for the dog.

There have been reports that while buying multible rolls, inconsistencies in height exist.
Found Tractor Supplies answer, mutiple manufacturing locations. ( REALLY? )
Advertised as 47" and I set my post accordingly.
My material after buying and getting ready to install, found material to be 48".
Not a real problem but annoying.
Property is flat as a pancake.
I can understand a professional installer wanting consistency if for nothing else, artistic appeal.

I bought this fencing to make tomato cages. It was really good for that purpose. Having had horses for many years I feel that this fencing is too light to really pull tight which is needed for a fence to look good and maintain is usefulness for many years. For other small animal applications it may be fine.
