These horse feed pellets are a blend of our high fiber alfalfa pellets with the addition of cracked corn. The grain is kept at an appropriate level to minimize a variety of metabolic issues. The formula is designed to ensure that your performance horses stay in top condition. Made with all natural ingredients, this is a horse feed both you and your horses are sure to enjoy.
- Artoa pellets provide the same high fiber as our alfalfa pellet and also contain 15% cracked corn
- Grain is kept at this low level to minimize a variety of metabolic issues and to keep this livestock feed safe for sheep
- Formula is designed to ensure that your performance horses stay in top condition
- Additional grains may be supplemented

- Pellets minimize diseases caused by feeding errors, such as colic and founder in horses and ensure your animal consumes all the nutrients it needs

Q: Is the 2% of body wieght calculation converted into pounds? If so that would mean a 1300lb horse would get 26lbs of feed per day? That doesn't sound correct. Can you clarify the amount recommened to a horse on a moderate work schedule?

- A: Here is the manufacturer's response: Yes this calculation is correct. That amount of feed equals the total amount for the animal per day. Usually the owner will split the total amount between the morning and evening feedings.6 years agoHelpful?

If your horse has a mineral deficiency, we suggest you consult with your veterinarian for recommendations on the right supplement for your horse. Q: Trying to figure out how this compares to other feed ration recommendations. Is this meant to be fed in larger quantities? Our Purina recommends feeding 5-6lbs per day for a 1000lb horse. Your recommendation is 2% of the body weight.

Q: Why can i not find hardly info on this product anywhere online. I would like to use it but I'm sceptical. I will be feeding to a older horse that is curently getting straight alfalfa will I see weight gain changing to this product because of the corn?

Horses like these larger sized pellets, but they are a bit crumbly in the bag... I use them as horse treats. This is a 50#, not a 40# bag which seems to be a better value.
