Q: Does this unit have mutiple frequencies

  • A: No, the outdoor sensor transmits the temperature data on a 433 MHz radio frequency that the indoor display unit receives. It cannot connect to multiple sensors and using an identical unit in the same area may cause interference. Q: Specifications state minimum temperature is 32. Does this mean it will not read below 32 degrees?

  • A: The 32 degree temperature minimum is for the indoor display unit only. It's internal thermometer is designed for indoor use and can only read down to 32 degrees. The outdoor sensor can measure temperatures of -40 to 158 degrees Fahrenheit. Q: Our thermometer doesn't track the daily high and low. It only tracks the overall high and low, it doesn't reset daily. Are we missing a switch or something?

  • A: The high and low temperature records are automatically cleared every 24 hours. The high and low records clear each day at the time the batteries were installed. For example, if the batteries were installed at 6:00pm, then high/low records will reset at 6:00pm daily. If your AcuRite product does not operate properly after trying troubleshooting steps in the manual, visit www.AcuRite.com or call (877) 221-1252 for assistance.

Q: changed batteries on both sensor & inside monitor. Inside temp. working fine on monitor, but the outdoor temp, etc. does not show on monitor. I'm not sure of model number, but it is an Acurite.

  • A: When you replace the batteries you have to have the units together for a few minutes so that they can find each other and calibrate together before you take the outdoor unit away from the indoor.

Q: Working great replaced batteries in both not working  Is there a reset or do I have to pair them?

  • A: Reset display by pressing the RESET button, located on the back of the display unit inside the battery compartment. Date and time will need to be entered after a reset. Flashing of the outdoor temperature is generally an indication of wireless interference.

LCD disfunctional

LCD will not read at vertical angle. Temp disappears. Have to have it laying down flat, which is useless. Then it fades out as you lift it up. A useless piece of junk. My last one (same model) did the same thing after a couple years. Changed batteries and fiddled with it. Nothing. Replaced with this one which is crap out right out of the box. Can anyone make anything that just works anymore?

We apologize that your display is experiencing an issue, but we are happy to assist! LCD screens typically have somewhat limited viewing angles. The viewing angle for our displays is optimized for typical display setups, such as on a side table, where it is meant to be seen at eye-level or from slightly above the display. For the best results, please make sure that you are using standard alkaline batteries from a high-quality brand. Remove the batteries for a full five minutes to allow the unit to power down completely before reinstalling. If this does not correct the issue, please reach out to our support team via live chat or email request for assistance.
