Wrap the foot to keep the hoof packing in place and to allow the liquid ingredients to be absorbed into the sole. - A: You can use Magic Cushion with most other treatments, but ask your veterinarian about your particular treatment. It can be used with our Hooflex Thrush Remedy, but we cannot endorse its use with all thrush products as there is a wide variety of ingredients used. - A: Yes, it is useful. We do not have data to show that it would stop a horse from foundering before it happens. However Magic Cushion increases circulation and decreases inflammation in the hoof structure. Thus, we do know that it will help with the symptoms. I’ve used this product in the past, and it’s worked great. I had a 3 yr. old (previously opened) tub of the stuff that had dried out except for the center, and my horse was experiencing symptoms of an abscess. I used the old product on hand, and drove to a neighboring town’s TSC on a Sunday evening to pick up a new one because my TSC was out. When I opened the new container, the Magic Cushion was so “tough”, I could barely tear off some to use for packing the hoof. This was worse than what I already had on hand. They must have changed the product or I got a bad batch. I think I’ll try another product next time.
