Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work at all I don't often write reviews, but this time I will, as I feel I wasted my money. Claims basically to be a "throw and grow" with no till... and I gave it a try based on good reviews from others. However, those others must have had perfect conditions, because it did not work at all for me. Without tilling in, the birds just come and grab it all, and what remained after the birds did not produce a single sprout of anything, even with water and plant food :-( I won't buy it again, and don't recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow, great stuff! I bought these seeds to replant a back yard that had been made into a barren wasteland by my flock of chickens. I planted it outside of the suggested plant time for my region. I didn't even water it after throwing down seeds. And to add insult to injury, I had two dogs running in the yard where the seeds were intended to germinate. Despite all this, these seeds sprouted in days and are really taking off! There's really nothing I could have done to worsen the odds of this product sprouting, short of salting the earth, and yet WOW, my back yard is well on the way to having greenery again. Very impressed!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent stuff This product worked just as it read on the package. I planted this seed as an experiment in late August and by the second week of September a two inch tall stand of growth was up. I hope that it will be hardy enough to withstand Northern Maine's harsh winters.

When is a good time to spread this seed and how big of an area will one bag cover

Asked by: Bowhunter89
It depends on your climate. Usually you will want to plant in late August a few days ahead of rainfall.

Will this grow in the woods that gets a lot of sun and has sufficient moisture without any to grow for deer? When is the best time in the northeast part of PA? I assume the deer will eat it when it begins to grow. Will it keep coming back year after year?

Asked by: JohnPA
Yes with sufficient sun light, and moisture this will grow with sufficient seed to SOIL contact. The ground will need to be disturbed, and leaf litter removed to get good seed to soil contact.
