Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good water tank, would buy again/another. We have installed this water tank for our spring to increase storage. It is durable and the weight is good, allowing it to be moved by a few guys. It has mulitiple access for water IN/OUT and drainage. Only issue we are still working on is the threaded lid, the tank sat through summer so the threaded ring changed size and the lid won't screw on. The threaded ring is screwed onto the tank and replacable, which we are in the process of doing. Would recommend checking the lid prior to leaving the store lot. We would definately buy again, and have in fact already discussed getting a second one, because you can't have to much water storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great service We are so happy that we purchased a 2500 gallon water tank from Tractor Supply in wickenburg . They took the time to secure the tank to our small trailer. It was difficult to load it but in the end we drove away safely. Thanks Tractor supply for going the extra mile!!

how long is the life of water tank? Or how fast does it age?

Asked by: DavidinCA
There is no good way to determine the life span of a polyethylene tank. Many variables can have an effect on the tank - what type of material is being stored in the tank? Is the tank used indoors or outdoors? If the tank is outdoors, what part of the country are you located in? Tanks used outdoors in Arizona or Florida are subjected to more intense sunshine than in Minnesota for example. UV rays will have a detrimental effect on the life span of any poly tank. Is the tank being used strictly for stationary storage or for transport? Each of these factors will have an effect on a polyethylene tank.

The fire department requires us to have 5000 gallon tank for fire suppression, can they use this or does it have to be steel? Theywant NFPA-22

Asked by: ShellyR
If you need a 5,000 gallon thank then this will not work. Please refer to the NFPA 22: Standard for Water Tanks for Private Fire Protection for further requirements.

is this bpa free? Safe for drinking water? is there a valve in the bottom to get water out?

Asked by: 550055
The tanks that Norwesco makes are high density polyethylene (HDPA) and do not contain BPA, there is a bottom opening for water, and yes, it is safe for drinking water. All Norwesco tanks are safe for potable water.

Will this fit on the bed rails of a Dodge 3/4 ton long bed? I have hauled a similar tank and I know it fits lengthwise, but I just want to make sure it fits and I also want to make sure that Tractor Supply can help me load it since it is over 300 lbs?

Asked by: JJJNNMM
This would depend on the dimensions of the truck bed. The items dimensions are 95 in. dia. x 91 in. H. Please contact your local store and they should be able to arrange for the team to assist you in loading.

is it safe to keep water in the tank where it will freeze?

Asked by: chuckybuckie
The tank itself does not have a minimum temperature rating. If you plan to keep the liquid in the tank and you know that it will freeze, make sure that you leave room for expansion. The most likely part to crack on the tank is the bulkhead fitting which can be easily replaced.

Can this water storage tank be partially buried?

Asked by: 914934
All of our tanks are specifically engineered for above ground use only, meaning that they are engineered for the pressure to force upon them from the inside out. IF any of these tanks are buried, even partially it most likely will void the warranty completely.
