Item Information

The Defender II is a beautiful air tight plate steel wood burning stove with nickel-pewter trim that accents a charcoal black finish. A heavy cast iron door with air washed ceramic glass allows a magnificent view of the burning fire that will enhance any hearth setting. How it works: the primary air inlet at the front of the stove ignites the wood upon start up. Once burning, the secondary air inlet at the rear of the firebox feeds air to the top of the stove through three (3) ignition tubes directly above the wood. The result is that you have ignition, or fire, at the bottom and at the top of the wood stove which, in effect, consumes the wood. This is a very efficient method of getting the most energy possible out of the wood that you are burning. This stove meets the stringent requirements of the EPA "Step 2 in. 2020 Certification Guidelines.

  • Meets all 2020 EPA Guidelines while burning cordwood
  • Burns several hours on one fueling so you wake up warm without fetching wood all night
  • The Defender II wood stove heats up to 1,200 sq. ft.
  • Accepts logs up to 17 In. length
  • BTU rating: 68,000
  • Adjustable legs
  • Cast iron feed door with large 15.5 In. x 8 In. ceramic glass window so you can enjoy the view as well as the heat
  • Heavy gauge 3/16 In. reinforced plate steel with firebrick lining

US Stove The Defender II Wood Stove with Blower and Ash Drawer, US1100E-BL is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not impressed I'm not really thrilled with this stove. It hard to get heat out of. It had an ash pan bit no opening in the fire brick. The instructions are minimal, i could find the draft control at first. This is a small stove sho it's kind of one stick of wood at a time. The description says a 5" diameter of wood will fit. If you do it won't stay going, i find that several small pieces work better. I wish i could change stoves but obviously that isn't possible.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small, toasty, quirky Excellent little stove, heats my 1100 sqft with loft in about an hour after lighting. Solid construction, beautiful pot belly legs. Two cons are the blower Motor is louder than I desire and the Handy ash drawer is utterly useless with the installed bricks they ship as there is no hole for them to reach it. Draft damper works well. Really seems to love 1” pieces and a bit of breathing room until hot. True to size, takes 17” logs with room to maneuver

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stove was damaged and lost during delivery. Haven't used it yet. It was lost in delivery. It was damaged when it arrived. We think ours was taken by someone else and our packing slip was put on this damaged one and given to us. The damage was not terrible -- smashed heat shield. Obviously it had been dropped as the pallet was busted up.

Hi, How does one remove the ashes from this stove? It has an ash drawer, but how do the ashes make it into the drawer? The bricks are glued to the bottom of the stove, which seems counter intuitive to me but hey, maybe I'm missing something.

Asked by: woodburner18
This was designed to carry out the ash after you shovel into the pan.
