Rated 1 out of 5 by from One star because zero isn't an option First day and can't even stretch one wire. It gets no grip and has no shoulder so the wire slips out the side when any pressure is put on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Frustrating Tried using this on twisted slick wire and 14 gauge electric and neither can be gripped right by this tool. The teeth that are part of the gripping component smoothed out within 3 pulls and after that I couldn't get it to grip without having a second person help out. I am in a agreement with other reviews here...Tractor supply should not sell this product if they ratio of good and bad reviews is slanted to only negatives wanting to post. IF the product had any merit then others would post how good it the tool worked for them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from JUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Tractor Supply shouldn't sell junk like this, will not pull tight with out slipping!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible Absolutely horrible. This will NOT grab smooth wire. This thing is so bad that Tractor Supply should refund the cost of the fuel it took to drive to the store and back when I return it. This isn't a case of mis-use or misunderstanding. It is quite simply a flawed product. For my part, I should have read the reviews. For their part, Tractor Supply should also be reading them and pull this product from their shelves so as not to waste anyone elses time or money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful. Terrible. Waste of Money Absolutely zero purchase on wire. No way to keep it from slipping. No way to keep the wire from falling out if you manage to get any tension. Terrible device. TSC should pull this from their shelves. How many One Star reviews does it take?????

Rated 1 out of 5 by from This thing is the most useless tool I ever bought, the wire just keeps slipping. Finally it went into my junk metal bin.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with HT wire I only work with high tensile wire, this product will not hold ht wire.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wire Puller - not very good. Very frustrating to use, not a one person puller. This wire puller does not work on barb-less or smooth wire very well. The wire slips through the jaws and I finally had to use visegrips on the back of the puller to stop the wire from slipping through. The jaws are smooth and offer little pulling surface. Im sure these would work great on barbed wire since they would have something to grab onto.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Skip this one Unless you have some rusty fence wire that this will grip upon, don't bother. I bought this because it was made in USA over the chinesium version. Well, I think I wasted my money. This clamp couldn't grip wire even if it were covered in super glue and sandpaper. I could not get the gripper to grip tight enough to put much of a pull on it to keep it from slipping. I tried about 40 different ways to grip it onto the wire, or at least get my best "grip" on it as it were. A few pounds of pull and it would slip after that. Couldn't even get the wire taut. Don't bother. Get the split ring wire gripper if you want it to work.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works with a little patience The barbed wire I was working with often slipped out of the cam that locks it down. With some practice I got it to work regularly. I plan to add a latch to keep the wire in place until it gets tension on it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would not waste my time with this item I purchased both the Wire Gripper and a Tuff Tug Wire Clamp. I tried to use the Tuff Tug first and after I got the wire tight, it slipped, and I was unable to get it to bit properly again. So I tried the Wire Gripper. I was able to stretch the wire tight with no slippage.
