Item Information

Chickens produce nutritious eggs, organic fertilizer, and are low-cost pets to maintain. Because they need plenty of room to roam and stretch their wings while still feeling safe, our Trixie Duplex Chicken Coop with Outdoor Run is ideal for these lively companions. This large coop has two sleeping houses with removable roosting poles, non-slip ramps, and sliding doors to restrict access. For easy maintenance, we've also included two metal pull-out trays. Each adjoining nesting boxes can be converted into two separate spaces using our removable divider. Hinged roofs with locking arms open above each box for egg collection. The outdoor run is ideal for free range, and even has a partition door in the middle that can be used to separate your flock. The large front door and top openings allow for easy access, while the close-mesh galvanized metal grid, metal slide latches, and fixtures for padlock keep out unwanted visitors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for intergration issues Having two younger hens and two older hens, it was important I could seperate them. One of the older hens goes into attack mode on the younger ones. This cage has a divider. Good. Perfect size for 2 and 2. I'd not want more then 4 in this Condo Cage. The downsides; nest box leaks. Putting a strip of weather proof tape works. There also could be more airflow in the roost and nest area. I live in FL, gets hot. The center area could use a cover if the cage is not in the shade. I used a tarp. Tray rusts if you rinse with water. Also, if you hose out, the screws that hold the wood under the tray will rot out. It's been re-built a few times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coop for the money I bought this coop a year ago for ten large hens. When I first got it I was skeptical about the quality of this coop because the materials didn't look strong enough. In a year this coop has endured several rainfalls, snow storms and very low temperatures. It's still holding strong with minimal damage. It is also predator proof. My chickens free range during the day and only use the coop to sleep and for laying. I locked them at night and have not had a problem with predators yet. I recommend this coop. It's worth the price.

Can you also add additional extension for more outdoor space. If so what extension would fit.

Asked by: pepaw 1950
Thank you for your inquiry for our Duplex Chicken Coop. We do not have an extension unit compatible with the unit.

We have regulations for both coop and pen size. What are the exact LxWxH of each?

Asked by: croooowe
Thank you for your inquiry into our Chicken Coop Duplex. The overall measurement for the unit is 123.5 x 27.5 x 42.5 inches. The nesting boxes on each end are 19.75 x 12.75 x 11.5 inches. The sleeping houses are 2.75 square foot and the run in the middle is 18.75 square feet. I hope this helps. Thank you.

Apparently product has warning of exposure to formaldehyde. Chickens will be exposed to it, thus will eggs have formaldehyde in them?

Asked by: Lou Seal
Hello Lou Seal: This has not been tested, but our product meets the CARB Phase II and TSCA Title VI requirements in regards to Formaldehyd Emission. Thank you for your question.
