Chickens produce nutritious eggs, organic fertilizer, and are low-cost pets to maintain. Because they need plenty of room to roam and stretch their wings while still feeling safe, our Trixie Duplex Chicken Coop with Outdoor Run is ideal for these lively companions. This large coop has two sleeping houses with removable roosting poles, non-slip ramps, and sliding doors to restrict access. For easy maintenance, we've also included two metal pull-out trays. Each adjoining nesting boxes can be converted into two separate spaces using our removable divider. Hinged roofs with locking arms open above each box for egg collection. The outdoor run is ideal for free range, and even has a partition door in the middle that can be used to separate your flock. The large front door and top openings allow for easy access, while the close-mesh galvanized metal grid, metal slide latches, and fixtures for padlock keep out unwanted visitors.

Great coop for the moneyI bought this coop a year ago for ten large hens. When I first got it I was skeptical about the quality of this coop because the materials didn't look strong enough. In a year this coop has endured several rainfalls, snow storms and very low temperatures. It's still holding strong with minimal damage. It is also predator proof. My chickens free range during the day and only use the coop to sleep and for laying. I locked them at night and have not had a problem with predators yet. I recommend this coop. It's worth the price.

Broken pieces!I bought this a month ago & it arrived with several key broken pieces. Tractor supply refused to trade us for new product & the manufacturer has not responded to our requests. Meanwhile our chickens do not have a proper home!! I am very disappointed in customer service of this product.

A bit on the lean sideWhile I have not assembled the coop yet, an inventory of the pieces revealed some broken items. The wood is a bit on the lean side, so the preassembled parts show that the screws split the wood and those items had to be reinforced with PC-11 putty to keep together. In hindsight I would have designed the roofing differently since the framing is exposed to the weather side and will probably rot without significant coats of an oil based paint. These coops should be coated with oil based primer and a coat of paint to protect them, which I know would change the aesthetic but I would rather have a coop that lasted a while than an interesting looking item that becomes fire wood in a few years. However, chickens are not picky in some areas and will probably not care about such things. I am certain that the chickens would not be concerned with the cost comparison but some 2X4, ply-board, chicken wire, fasteners felt, shingles and paint would be about half the cost. Sorry for the honest assessment.
Can you also add additional extension for more outdoor space. If so what extension would fit.

We have regulations for both coop and pen size. What are the exact LxWxH of each?

Thank you for your inquiry into our Chicken Coop Duplex. The overall measurement for the unit is 123.5 x 27.5 x 42.5 inches. The nesting boxes on each end are 19.75 x 12.75 x 11.5 inches. The sleeping houses are 2.75 square foot and the run in the middle is 18.75 square feet. I hope this helps. Thank you.
