Triple Crown Senior Horse Feed, 50 lb. is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved our senior horse When our 36 year old horse quit eating this winter, we decided to try Triple Crown Senior. He loves it! It is a textured feed so softer and easier for him to eat with missing teeth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Triple Crown Senior Feed I have been using this feed for at least 5 years and it has done wonders for my horses ranging from 1 year to 23 years old. I was so happy when Tractor Supply started carrying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A++ We started using this on a severely emaciated thoroughbred we took in. In just a weeks time his cost is shinier and he is gaining weight!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happiest my horse has ever been ! I have a 30 yr old Standardbred Stallion and he has never enjoyed food like this ! His teeth are very bad, but this feed nearly melts in his mouth. And I have never purchased a more well balanced horse feed in my 30 years of owning horses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Product It was super easy to buy online and pick up in store. Their aren't a lot of stores in our are KC,K that sell triple crown. Our horses seem to really enjoy this feed and our seniors look great on it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caring Hearts for Horses Outreach and Sanctuary While we have tried many different sr feeds including purina, estrella fortified, Thrive to name a few, Rice bran, etc. nothing has helped our 18 and 24 yr old gelding the way this has. It has the right amounts of everything. Beet pulp shreds, rice bran, alfalfa vitamins etc. Our sanctuary seniors have navicular and are hard keepers. This is the first time the 24 yr old appendix quarter has had a topline. For the most part he leads a life of leisure and still has gotten a topline! lol And he is acting like a younger man playing with the 3 yr old. We have and still are using this feed for our rescues also. The buckskin in the pics was only a 2 month process of grass and sr feed. When someone trys to talk us into another feed compare what it would run us to use the other brand and match the added supplementation and only once would it cost my 10 a month less. Not a good reason for us to change. And in 2020 they have offered a 25$ card for sending in 12 proofs of purchase. If you don't use enough to keep them we are happy to get them from you, lol. As for being a pellet and soaking. They soak up the water so fast that I don't worry about the boys choking at all. I dump the 3qt scoop maintenance amount for them, into their feed buckets and add the same amount in water or a little more and it is Adios tiny 5/32 pellets. NO CHOKE WORRIES. We are also ecstatic about Tractor Supply carrying your feed. When we do our fundraiser tables at our 2 area locations we put 2 bags of Triple Crown at the corners of our table and all of the funds we take in those days pays for just that. Caring Hearts for Horses LOVES Triple Crown feed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 10 STAR FEED********** I have fed TC feeds since the 90s. And have always returned to them especially with my hardkeepers. It is not grainbased so sugar is not a problem. I have 2 26 & 27 year old Thoroughbreds. Both have expired teeth and the Sr feed is soaked to allow the the beet pülp to exspand and soften the pellets. My old timers thrive on it. It is pricey but it fulls the ticket and gives me peace of mind. It is a 14% protein which older horses need, with 10% fat. It helps to maintain healthy weight especially during colder weather. TCSR can also be used as a total feed for those horses that can no longer eat the amount of forage needed. TCSR is a 10 star feed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thanks for carrying this great feed We switched to this for our 30 year old horses from Purina Senior about a year ago. They were losing weight and looking bad. Since switching, they look better and have significantly more energy. So glad that Tractor Supply has started to carry it since I had to make a long trip to a competitor to get it. Just wish they would roll it out to all their stores. (The TSC store near me still doesn't carry it).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome for all ages Have spent hours talking to nutritionists at triple crown.. not only has triple crown senior awesome for our older guys but it's perfect for rehabbing a skinny horse of any age. Because off added supplements and breaking down quickly and easily with warm water it cuts cost and it's perfect for all ages if they need a little extra or not in their diet

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Price misleading I just specifically drove to a TSC because online it says they are a certain price per bag. When I got to the store the price was more expensive than advertised, and when i asked about it they said the online price is different and wouldn't match it. Would have gone to my regular store if it was going to be the same price. Felt it was a little misleading.

Are Triple Crown feeds made in a dedicated plant just for horse feeds or do you make other livestock feeds at the same plant?

Asked by: Reba20
Like most major feed companies our feeds are manufactured in plants that do manufacture other species feeds. However, all of our horse feeds are manufactured in ionophore-free manufacturing systems.

My mare gets choke on regular feed, so I am feeding a chelated feed which she has not had any problems with. What form is this feed in, pelleted or something else?

Asked by: Diane3045
Triple Crown Senior is a beet pulp based feed. If your mare has a tendency to choke it is recommended that you mix the Senior with water to form a mash.

do i need to mix this with water?

Asked by: Valiant
You do not need to mix the feed with water. If your horse has issues chewing or has no teeth, you may choose to do so.

Would this be safe for HYPP + horse?

Asked by: GiGi c
We do not recommend the Triple Crown Senior for horses with HYPP. We suggest the use of Triple Crown Low Starch for HYPP horses. I have attached a link for the PDF on Low Starch below.

Is this a complete senior feed? Or do things needed to be added to make sure my senior horse gets the proper nutrition?

Asked by: Steven1433
Triple Crown Senior will meet all of a horse’s vitamin and mineral requirements as long as it is fed according to feeding directions. For an average size horse who can eat hay, we suggest starting with 6 pounds per day and adjusting up or down to meet desired body condition. If your horse cannot eat hay due to damaged or worn teeth, we suggest beginning with roughly 12 pounds of Triple Crown Senior per day, adjusting up for down to meet desired body condition, with no more than 5 pounds being fed at a single meal. If you have additional questions or would like more detailed feeding directions, please feel free to contact us at 1-800-451-9916.
