Q&As

1 - 10 of 47 Questions

Q: Does the solar panel angle to be directed to get the most from the sun in a low light area?

1 Answer
  • Fair Game Group Product Expert
A: The solar panel is attached flat to the top of the feeder and is not adjustable. That being said, the timer and motor use very little power so as long as you get a couple hours of sunlight a day on the panel, that should be plenty to keep the battery charged.

  • A: We do not make a remote for the feeders But there are other that should work. Depending on the one you get, there may be a bit of wiring to do.

Q: red light on timer means motor is working?

1 Answer
  • A: The red LED is blinking any time the motor is supposed to be running. This red LED just happens to be next to the reset button but doesn’t mean the motor needs to be reset. These two things are not related. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Good for the money but sometimes has issues

It works great, easy to fill and dispenses corn a good ways. My only 2 complaints are- it gets jammed sometimes and it doesn't work in very cold weather. Anything below 32 and it does not operate. I've had one that's lasted for 3 years so they are very durable, just don't like the jamming especially if its on property that's over an hour away . Will probably try a different brand when mine stops working.

Treeline 350lb feeder

This feeder is awesome. Set to 4 second timer and is enough that deer and hogs come to feeder without having to waste corn. 1 year and a half and battery still good to go. I save with capacity enough it pays for itself. Bought 2 so far and plan on more. Waiting for a sale.

Good points and bad

I've had two of these in play for more then a year now. The issues I've had have been with the timers. Every 3-4 months you need to full the fuse in the controller and clean it of any dust buildup. This is the first thing to check if yours quits workings. Today I ended up replacing the timer completely in one as it's failed and cannot get it to throw corn even though is goes through the program and sends the signal to the motor. I wiggle the fuse with a pliers and get to 'hit' sporadically so it's beyond just dust on the contacts. I've also noticed an increased failure in my 12 volt batters since I brought the feeders into place - 3 of them in the last 6 months. I don't know if its the solar panel over charging the batteries perhaps. I've disconnected the panels just to see if that changes the failure rate. Overall the feeder is well built for what you pay for. I like the spring mechanism for the spinner plate has I have a heavy racoon population and they've held up well. Just make sure you follow directions and install it correctly. Make sure to caulk the inside of the feeder where the bolts come through (Its mentioned in the installation directions) or you might get some water seepage into the feeder thought it's minimum.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Best feeder ever.

Fantastic feeder.  Look no further - this is it. After years of cheap moisture feeders I got this.  Worth the extra cost. Has never missed a beat in 6 months. It’s in camera daily and ZERO raccoons or possums in it.  I called 4 Tractor Supplies in Texas and everyone told me they sell a lot of them and had NEVER had one returned.  Nim in the northern part of GA so no jogs but I don’t think that’s an issue.  And - the old YouTuber videos make it sound like the spinner plate is hard to set up - it’s not.  It all comes pre assembled now.  Now guesswork. It’s fully sealed inside. I thought it might be too low to the ground but it’s no issue.

Yes, I recommend this product.

I live in bear country and this is the first ground feeder I’ve been able to use. It’s all metal and well built. You’ll have to anchor it down if u live in bear country but I especially like being able to fill it from the ground as I get older. Great feeder and I’ve owned a several.

Was great, until it wasn’t.

My initial opinion of this feeder was positive. It seemed to address all of the common issues that most other feeders had. But that changed after about 6 months. The motor and spinner assembly required constant maintenance. The internal motor requires you to empty the d Feeder to access it. So I only put in 50-100 pounds of corn at a time. This feeder is a constant headache to keep running.

Please contact us for troubleshooting and possible warranty. If the battery is reading 12.5V (DC) on your voltmeter, then we would recommend the following: 1. Make sure the spinner plate is spinning freely by hand and not jammed. It's important that the spinner plate is adjusted so the plate is about 1/16th inch away from the downspout. You can reach us at help@fairgameus.com. we have soe troubleshooting videos and things like that that we can send to help figure the issues out. TheBoltzGroup

My Go-To Feeder – I’m Buying More

The Treeline 350# Corn Feeder is built like a tank with solid steel construction and a varmint-proof design that works flawlessly. The large, waterproof hopper keeps corn dry year-round, and the low to the ground engineered design makes filling it simple. The solar panel keeps batteries charged indefinitely when set in sunny areas. I had a couple of minor setup issues, but after quick, helpful email exchanges with responsive customer service, everything has worked flawlessly. I’m impressed enough that I’ll be buying more very soon.

I have this feeder as well as the 600 lb Treeline feeder. Both are outstanding products. Built to last, durable, and filter the corn very well. Raccoons can’t get to the corn either which is great. Highly recommend any Treeline products to anyone.

A very good feeder at a reasonable price.

This is the second Treeline 350 feeder I have purchased. The first one has been operating for a year, and the only problem I have had with it is that the timer failed; however, the timer was promptly replaced by Fairgameus. I like that this feeder is easily filled and completely varmint proof. It is also an economical choice for me since I can pick it up at my local Tractor Supply and avoid the very expensive shipping costs for most feeders this large. I just assembled the second feeder and the only minor problem I encountered was that the M6 bolt that is used to adjust the spin plate would not tighten on the shaft. I thought maybe the threads were striped in the part, but then I tried using a 1/4" bolt, and it fit perfectly, so apparently the wrong size tap was used on my feeder part. Also, the best way to communicate with Fairgameus is via a descriptive email, which I have found to result in a prompt reply/action. Overall, a very good feeder for the price.

Excellent customer service.

Feeder is well built and assembled by myself in 1 hour. When I tested it in climate controlled garage it worked fine. But when I filled it up and placed it outside in very cold weather(5 deg) it didn't work. Neither on timed or test mode. Called customer service left a message and was contacted back in a few hours. Told technician, Shane, what was going on. He trouble shot problem over phone, sent me a new control box and it solves the problem. Feeder works in cold weather fine. Gave product 4 stars but would give customer service 5 stars

missing pieces

Do NOT order this to be delivered. The Tyler, TX store did not send me a new "in the box" item that I paid full price for. They delivered this item with damaged skids as well as the instruction packet already opened with the timer missing. The whole point of this item is for it to self feed. Without a timer it is basically a metal box sitting on damaged skids. (Was not damaged in delivery process as there is rust on the crimped skid!) I hate it when a store sells you and charges you for a NEW product that is basically their floor model with damages and missing parts. To me that is just out and out fraud. They have offered to contact the manufacturer and order me a new timer that is only going to take at least two weeks to get to me!!! I will be thinking kind thoughts of Tractor Supply this weekend when it is 20 degrees outside and I am having to go outside and feed by hand because they KNOWINGLY sold me a damaged product that does not have the most important part...... a timer.

Solid build, but weak electronics

These are solid built and very critter proof...BUT... Both of mine stopped feeding after about 2 weeks. Both have fresh controller batteries and the motor batteris are fully charged and new as well. When the test harness is installed both motors will spin perfectly, and the feed plates are set to the speciofications suggested in the manual. When I press test, I hear a faint click and the red motor light flashes but the motor does not spin. I have tried calling customer service twice now, leaving a message as well, but no response. Two of these feeders represent a substantial investment so I would expect better service and functionality. Currently trying to find alternate controllers as I suspect the ones used simply cant handle the current draw from the motors hence the issue. Treeline products are generally pretty good, but I'd avoid their feeders till they work out the issues.

No, I do not recommend this product.

We are sorry to hear about your issue. Please contact us at help@fairgameus.com and we will happily assist you. All of our feeders go through a number of quality control protocols and have been testing these for several years without any issues. That being said, sometimes a poor solder joint can come loose or something similar that can cause an issue with the timer. We will be happy to send you a replacement timer once you send our customer service department an email. Have a great day! TheBoltzGroup
