Tomcat Spin Trap, Pack of 2, 33549 is rated 3.2 out of 5 by 123.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't catch any mice I bought these at Home Depot, thinking they would be so much better than the old style wooden traps. Luckily, I had left the old wooden ones out along with the new Spin traps. Over several weeks, the old wooden ones caught several mice and the Spin traps caught none. Had I used just the Spin traps, I would have thought there were no more mice, since they weren't being set off. I am very disappointed and do not recommend these at all.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from DON'T BOTHER I had a mouse in my basement and was freaked out so I went and bought five packs of two [yes TEN traps because this mouse was going to be caught] Tomcat Spin Trap and bought the stuff from Tomcat 'that works better than peanut butter' to put in the trap. Well everyday we checked and nothing they were all right where it said to put the and also right where we saw the mouse. Well for two weeks nothing. So my friend went and put the old school easy set mouse traps in my basement and the next day the mouse was caught. Don't go for the gimmicky traps and waste your money just get the old school mouse trap and put peanut butter on it and you will be set!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work. We bought several of these traps for our home. We had a ten of them. Placed by spots that would be ideal for them to nest. One on either side of dishwasher, one under oven and two on either side. With two by the fridge and the rest in pantry. Placed the attractant gel in all the traps checking every day. Turns out I set up a buffet for them. The cat cought one before any of the traps. We used gloves to handle all traps to prevent them from smelling unappetizing and close together. Turned out a bucket filled with water and a sheet of paper with peanut butter works far better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work Bought this trap yesterday from Home Depot. The mouse cleaned the peanut butter out of the bait trap. Did not go off. I have bought spin traps before a different design and they worked great. This one I will never buy again. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Used to work great but not anymore! I have used these religiously for the past 3 years. They used to work great but something had changed! The mice are going in and eating the cheese but not triggering the trap! I am not sure what has changed but this needs the company’s attention. Currently looking for another option!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Ineffective! Did not trigger! I bought two, two packs at a local hardware store. I specifically chose this style because it's a "no handle" style; meaning that after the kill you don't have to handle (or see) the mouse. This was something my wife wanted. The morning after setting the traps, I checked to see if we were successful. There was activity. The mouse pooped on the trap, on the "set/caught" label, and when I checked the bait a dropping fell out from the inside! The mouse had been inside and the trap didn't fire. "No big deal", I thought. Just figured I'd chance the bait and try again. Maybe the mouse didn't go all the way in and a dropping came from somewhere else. The next night, we heard a sound from bed; it was unusual enough that the dog barked and growled. In the morning, I checked the traps, and nothing. Then we heard shuffling from the garbage. The mouse had traversed the kitchen (passing three traps freshly loaded with peanut butter) and into the garbage area. Somehow it managed to climb into the plastic recycling bin (13 gal trash can) and couldn't get out. It was stuck. This was the perfect opportunity to test the trap. I put the trap in the recycling can with the mouse. There was nothing else in the bottom of the can but the mouse and a cocked trap. First the mouse when straight through the trap opening. So I shook the can a bit. After simulated seismic activity, the mouse bolted into the trap. Stayed their for a bit and came back out. Strange, the trap didn't trigger. So, I played like the San Andreas fault and shook the can some more. This time the mouse ran in during the shaking, and still nothing happened. So, to recap that for just a second. The trap was bouncing around the bottom of a trash can and it didn't fire. Then with the mouse inside the trap, and the trap bouncing around, so the mouse was pin-balling around inside the trap, the trap still did not fire! I have video, but we can't add video to this review. It's very disappointing to spend money on a product and not have it come through in the least way. Well, that's not true. One did end up firing. Believe it or not, as I through away the rest of the traps, as one hit the inside of the trash can, it fired! What a waste of money! Save your money!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Two weeks and I still haven’t catch the mouse I have set up two traps in the kitchen and even though I change the location of them constantly I haven’t been able to catch the mouse. Definitely would not recommend

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't trap mice! I've had prior versions of this with good results. My most recent purchases of 2 of these traps don't work at all. They just sit there. I've tried to trigger the trap myself to see if they are functional and there is no response. Clearly a defective design.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from didn't realize it was a "one-catch" gimmick I got a pair of these cheap at a rummage sale. Have also been using the Tomcat snap traps and have caught over 30 mice with them. Set these and caught a mouse in the first couple days, but couldn't figure out how to empty it and reuse it. Then I went online and discovered they expect you to just throw it away. That makes it just too expensive a proposition for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a better mouse trap I bought four of these with the magic bait from a tube. The bait works on the old spring loaded snap trap, but even that stuff didn't catch anything with this spin trap. It just doesn't have a trip sensitivity that trips the trap. Mice love it, I don't. A waste of money.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I watched a mouse going in and out of the trap I bought 2 packs of these due to I don't want to see the aftermath of the kill. I have a mouse outside my window he's coming in and getting in the vent. I sent the trap outside against the wall baited with peanut butter. I watched as he went in and out if the trap many times eating the peanut butter. The trap never worked. I set 3 traps he went in all 3 never set one off. I wish these were able to be set more sensitive.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not work I bought these in the two pack and both do not work. We watched the mouse go freely inside out and no bait is being eaten either. It appears the bait may be tucked under a plastic part which the mouse cannot see? Anyways we are having to buy something else now. From reading other reviews, you should not sell this product as it clearly does not work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money I have 4 spin traps set for over a week, I even keep putting new peanut butter inside but I haven't caught a single mouse. So I decided to put a stick inside to see if the trap really worked and it does not. I wiggled that stick around inside and the trap did not snap. There are videos on YouTube where you can see the mice running in the trap, taking the bait and coming out alive and well. What garbage!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst trap EVER don’t buy these!! Purchased these and they didn’t work!! Mice would go in have a feast and leave. Use old fashioned Victor traps, work every time!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not catching anything I've had 2 spin traps set and ready for 6 weeks...I've changed the bait food over and over. Last night I saw the mouse within 2 inches of one of the traps and nothing. I'm going to change the bait food again today. I don't know how the mouse can keep walking past 2 traps and never get caught .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Do not work I bought 2 of them and the bait comes up missing and no mice in trap. What a joke. Yes they got my money for nothing

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work at all Last year my wife and I started getting mice. I bought DCon spin traps and caught a few mice quickly. This year I had mice again so I bought a few of these traps. traps. So far I have not caught a single mouse and I have actually found mouse poop inside these traps. I did go out and purchase two of the vertical traps from Tom Cat and caught one mouse the next day but still nothing in these spin traps

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Save your money Have caught mice in regular traps and glue traps but never in this trap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Caught the mice in 2 days! We used the Spin Trap under our sink in kitchen. Caught our first mouse that night. Reset it and caught the second one the next day. So far we haven't had any more problems with mice. Easy to set up and use. You can dispose the mouse and reuse if you choose. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked within hours of setting it up! Noticed the noise of a mouse running around in the ceiling of my basement a few days ago, never had mice in my house before. Put mice poison up the access hole in the ceiling first. For two nights heard the little bugger eating the poison. Then my dad asked me, what if it dies in your ceiling? So, he suggested a glue trap, I went to the store and bought a dual pack of Tomcat spin traps because I didn't want to see the mouse after it was dead. Set one up last night about 8PM with peanut butter in the cup and by 10PM it went off. This evening after work, I got my adult son to fetch it out of the ceiling with gloves on, I knew it was in there by the weight and indicator "caught". Threw the whole trap away. I couldn't believe it would work so well, I am so happy! Saving the second trap in case I get another visitor.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn’t work I have used two different products from this brand and they are both terrible. First I tried these spin traps and I bought TWO of the them. I set the first one and watched the mouse go in and out of it. I thought maybe this one was just malfunctioned , so I set the second one. Next morning I still see mouse droppings and no mice, I left to several more days and no mouse caught but plenty of evidence. The mice walk right in and out of these , they do not work. I then tried the kill and contain traps which also do not work, see review.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My go too mouse trap! I've used these traps with great success several times. In fact I tried the other brand, same style but with a smaller opening and NOTHING! Not one mouse! The last time I used these I got one mouse within a few minutes and 2 in the next day. Definitely going back to these. They are clean, quick, and you don't have to see or touch anything gross. This is a great price too!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not work! I have 6 of these deployed for over a month week and bot a single mouse! There are plenty to catch and ive seen one go in and come back out with the bait and its life! Buy the cheap snap traps and get a pair of rubber gloves. You’ll save money, time and get your mice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work have had 2 in place for several weeks now & nothing. Put peanut butter in the trap, set it along the baseboard of one room for a couple weeks where I had seen activity, nothing. Moved them to a pantry where there had been a lot of activity, and they have now been there for a couple weeks with fresh peanut butter & still nothing. Unfortunately, there were zero reviews when I purchased these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor engineering Bought this product three weeks ago and would like to get my money back. I placed traps as per instructions and still no takers. I believe the entry hole is too small. Cant catch them if they wont [or cant] go in
Date published: 2017-11-21
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't even set it I bought a 2 pack and NEITHER one of them would set. And yes, I had it sitting flat when I tried. I pulled the entryway so hard I almost broke the trap

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Does not work I put peanuts INSIDE the set mouse trap after coming to the conclusion that the mouse wasn't stepping inside. Mouse got the peanuts and thus trap failed to catch the mouse, on many, many many attempts. Zero stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mices, meeses, mouses, you are gone! These traps have been great in the kitchen and dining room area of my home. Those little buggers have evaded so many other traps, but these have netted a catch of 15 mice. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from They Didn't Stand A Chance When the cold weather season came in, so did the annual parade of mice. Traded out old spring snap-type traps for this product, and found it much more convenient and easy to use; was not worried about pets messing with traps as much as with traditional traps. Can you reuse the spin traps and how do u dump out the daid rats?

Asked by: Babygirl1
The Tomcat Spin Traps are designed to be used as a disposable trap. Once the mouse has been caught & killed, you can simply dispose of the entire trap. If you are interested in a re-usable trap, we recommend Tractor Supply # #101511299 (Tomcat Heavy Duty Mouse Traps) or #420301699 (Tomcat Mouse Snap Trap).
