Timber Tuff Upright Bench Mount Electric Chainsaw Chain Sharpener, CS-BWM is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chains sharpen like new I use my saws to clear out the dead wood around a 12 acre New England piece of land. Using a file is time consuming and not very accurate. This sharpener can sharpen just about any type of chain and easily rotates from one side of the chain to the other so that both sides are equal. The wheels included are of good quality and the motor is smooth. It also has a small light. This sharpener is a real decent deal for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from the best ever chainsaw sharpener on the better than a round file or a flat file. the ease of this product made it easyer to sharpen a chainsaw

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works great Well made machine that sharpens chains fast and accurately every time. Little bit of a learning curve when you first start using it. The short list of settings that is included in the owners manual doesn't clearly identify every chain that is used. Have to go slow pay attention to what your chain settings are.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Chainsaw sharpener review Got the sharpener and sharpened all my old chains. Its the only way to go now. Your chain will always have the right cut angle. I like it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for Simple to assemble. Simple to operate. Easy to use. Makes every blade on the chain the same. Due to the spring hinged design, very quick. Very pleased

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A better way to sharpen your chain. I bought this timber tuff chainsaw chain sharpener to make it a little bit easier. I was looking for a easier way to get a good sharp chain. I'm not sure if I did my first couple of chains right, but it was a easier way and quicker than ways I tried before.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So easy! My boyfriend bought this and I thought he was crazy and didn’t need it. Turns out he’s used it so much and it’s so easy. It saved us money in the short time we have had it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I’m looking for .I bought this I’m going to enjoy using it . Need something fast and easy to sharpen my chains

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Once set up, easy to become efficient! I bought this a month ago and after assembly and set up have sharpened 4, 18-22 inch chains. It is a comfortable machine to use and get the hang of. Better than spending the money to have someone else do the same thing. Only reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is because it’s a bit tricky, due to the safety guard, to change the grinding wheel for different size chains.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well worth it! Spent a lot of money having chains sharpened. Decided to finally obtain a good product to sharpen chains myself. Best thing I ever did, as this unit is fantastic. Better then I thought it ever would be. Once you read through the instructions and follow the procedures you end up with a chain as sharp as I have ever had. I have been cutting wood for more than 40 years and this unit is top notch. Would highly recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from What I expected Just bought and assembled all moving points for adjustment needed a little grinding to move smoothly Chinese copy that needs a little tweaking

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great! Although it took a while to set up, once it was it didn't take long at all to sharpen my 24in chain. Take your time setting it up. Directions weren't very clear, but enough to complete.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality I have had 2 of these sharpeners. I rec'd one for Christmas, within several months the pivot pin had worked itself out. The unit was replaced as under warranty; the frame cracked on that one. I only have 5 chains to sharpen, so the use on the machine was light. It's just the quality of this machine is very poor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I bought this a month ago and it works great with my Stihl 3/8 chains, a little tricky to figure out at first but watch youtube and it will be easy after that. This unit produces nice sharp saw teeth and I am very glad I purchased this chain sharpener. Plus if I need a new grinding wheel I can just walk into the store and buy it instead of waiting for it in the mail. thats a big plus for me. also the light on this unit is a nice touch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid Sharpener This sharpener has been a great unit after working out a few bugs. After sharpening 1 1/12 chains the spring loaded pin that holds the plate with the grinder on it to the mounting plate slid out. After a quick grip clamp, a screw driver used as a punch, and a mini sledge hammer the pin was reinstalled. Since then it has been spectacular! its puts a surgical cutting edge on my chains. I don't recommend it for grinding depth gauge teeth. Use a bench grinder for those.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great sharpener Bought sharpener Jan.2015 Took about 15 mins. to set up.Instrucions are a little to be desired. After getting degrees and angle set to chain.Takes about 4 mins. to sharpen a 20 inch stihl chain.Chain is as sharp as a new bought chain.want be using round file again.Well pleased with performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok Shortest power cord I've ever seen. Had to buy an extension cord to plug it up. Base is solid but the attachments are loose and flimsy. Groove for chain is way to short. Annoying to adjust the settings. Is faster than a file though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from mid range cost, mid range value Directions we're just so -so. Certainly could have been a little more descriptive. I think they assume most people can't read English and need to rely upon the poorly drawn illustrations provided. Overall pretty simple to put together without any directions if you have any mechanical sense. Chain locking clamp could have been better engineered. Tilt feature is nice, but not very easily adjusted, nor explained in the directions. I had to use a magnifying glass and align the cutting wheel with the saw tooth in order to figure out which way to tilt the base. The cutting depth guide is junk, through it away and buy a real one.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from SORRY EXCUSE FOR A COPY!!! I bought this grinder two months ago and have not even used it more than a couple hours total. Any experienced chain sharpeners will know that's not a lot of time on a bench grinder. It's a copy of the tried and true Oregon bench grinder that from the pics and literature on the box looks to be of decent quality. BOY IS THAT FAR FROM THE TRUTH!!!!! This grinder is made of metal in some areas but PLASTIC MOST OF THE FUNCTIONING COMPONENTS!!!! The play and loose fittings doesn't allow for an accurate grind on the teeth. No one teeth is sharpened the exact same angle as the others. They obviously haven't heard of using washers as most of the time the clamp and vise assembly vibrates loose during use. It seems funny to me that all the reviews on here speak highly of this product when I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO HAS HAD ISSUES WITH THIS PRODUCT!!!! Stay CLEAR from purchasing this product. For a FEW dollars more a TRUE PRO BENXH GRINDER MADE OF METAL CAN BE BOUGHT FROM OTHER PLACES!!!! After only two hours of use this machine is utterly USELESS to me as I expect to have an ACCURATE ANGLE ON ALL MY CUTTING TEETH!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent machine I have sharpened about a dozen chains to near factory quality. It is easy to use, was economical to purchase and does a great job. I like the light. By careful sharpening I can get double or triple the chain life over commercial sharpening.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works Great I should have bought this years ago. I have wanted one for a while but kept putting it off thinking it would be time consuming to pull the chain off and set it up everytime I wanted to sharpen my chains. I figured I would still use my hand file for most of my sharpening needs and use this one for when they got bad. I have found that I don't even use my hand file anymore and use this one before heading out to do some cutting. Love it and is easy to setup.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from professional results I purchased the timber tuff chain sharpener today from my local tractor supply and was very pleased . Its easy to set up and use . Sharpened a couple stihl picco micro comfort chains with excellant results . The work light is really nice thats something usually only found on expensive units . Does as good of a job as the professional stihl sharpener we use at work . Cant beat it for the price! .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works okay I bought this because I am terrible at resharpening chain saws. I assembled it and was pretty happy. Then the light started dimming and the motor was cutting in and out. I think its a bad switch. I'll return it tomorrow and try another one but I must say I am concerned about longevity. The warranty is 1 year but how many times do you run a sharpener? I figure about 2x maybe in a year? also the tilt has two angle scales...they both read different angles from one another(almost 10 degrees different!). The pointer for the angle is kind of thick...not very precise. All in all I'll keep it because the actual edge is very good on the saw chain. I'll have to tweak it to make it more accurate and maybe look for a source for cheap parts

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Timber Tuff Great sharpener. I have tried numerous methods and did not fair well. This thing brings a scary sharp to the chain. Better than new. Havent sawed much since sharpening, but did do 5 chains in about 15 minutes including testing. Yes, I think you should just go buy it. Directions are OK, but if you are using this you probably have a good sense of how things are to go together anyhow. I would use an old chain the first time until getting the hang of it. Directions give you angles for most big name chains.
