Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worked great for 2 months I bought this in the spring to replace a jack I have on my box trailer. After about 2 months, the pin that locks the leg into place once I lowered it, had a difficult time locking the pin back into place. Sometimes it took about 5 minutes to get it to lock into place. Then the pin holding the top handle in place (to lower jack to lift the trailer off the truck) broke because lowering the jack became very difficult. I have to grease it every week or so to work smoothly. I wanted this to be great but it's not working very well for me. I have to replace it after 6 months of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Built Jack This jack is a little pricey, but it is a well built jack and easier to operate than the standard tongue jack. I bought this jack to replace the typical bent one on my flatbed trailer that had suffered at the hands of people that didn't want to spend the time to crank it all the way up and then drove into a driveway with a dip. The jack only requires minimal cranking as it has the drop down leg that get the foot most of the way to the ground and then you just have to crank it the last few inches to get the hitch off of the trailer ball. I was impressed enough to buy another one for my shop trailer. The other really nice feature of this jack versus the other typical tongue jacks is that this one comes up much closer to the bottom of the tongue when it is fully retracted by pulling the pin and raising it to its top hole further helping to keep the jack from bottoming out when you go through a ditch or up a steep transition.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every penny This jack is pricey but is pretty slick. Glad I spent the money. One bit of advice, when I installed mine I tightened the three bolts on the trailer very tight and it caused the jack to not work. After slightly loosening each one it worked perfectly. Hitch must have been bent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Time saver and no more dragging! Two years now and no problems. Being used on a tandem 16 Foot utility trailer with a 1500 LB machine loaded on it when not in use. Use spray Teflon to lubricate because oil or grease is a dirt magnet causing it to be hard to wind when dirt accumulates on the jack screw. Teflon goes on dry . Added a foot plate for the gravel area where its parked when not in use. I block the wheels front and back when unhooking the trailer and still is as easy to wind as it was when I installed it. Its a clever adaption to the old standby that been around for ages. Goes up high enough to never scrape while towing to job sites. The drop and raise feature saves a lot of time and also eliminates carrying around blocks..

I've had this about 2 years. My main problem is the shaft binding up. What do you recommend to lubricate it? Since it sits between the rig and the trailer, grease picks up all kinds of dirt pretty quickly.

Asked by: True2BSU
You can take an oil can and apply oil to the shaft of the jack just above the top of the jack and below the handle. It will run down through the jack and oil the threaded shaft that raises and lowers the jack. Also we recommend WD-40.

Can you take main body all the way out of mounting flange.

Asked by: ricky 59
Yes you can if you loosen the bolt that holds black plastic piece, then you can pull the jack up and completely out provided you don't have foot or wheel connected!

my trailer is not an A-Frame but a 3" square tube.Currently have a bolt on style but can't tell model/manufacturer..Is there a way to mount or what jack do you suggest

Asked by: BLR55
This jack will not work on your specified trailer. We suggest a side mount jack with wheel.

Can you elaborate more on what it takes to remove the entire body from the mounting flange? Is it practical to remove it every time after you attach the trailer t the tow vehicle ball? (I want to attach a hitch mount bike rack to a double receiver)

Asked by: TedT2018
You could remove the jack every time, but you will have to loosen black plastic before removing it and also remove any wheel or foot attached to bottom of jack

will SKU #184001399 fit the ultimate jack for a foot?

Asked by: bobtrek
SKU 1840013 is for jacks with a 2 in tube width. The Ultimate Trailer Jack has a 2-1/4 in tube width. This would not fit as a foot for the jack.

When the jack is lowered all the way down, what is the distance from the bottom of the mounting flange to the top edge of the handle?

Asked by: Shaun M
Per the manufacturer: By our measurements, when the jack is all the way down in last setting, there is about 10.5" from top of handle to bottom of mounting bracket. If you invert the handle you lower the finished height to about 7.5".
