Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good machine Shopped around for a long time and read many reviews. I've used it for a few hours. Mulching leaves does a great job. Though I did mulch a lot of wet leaves. After a while the wet leaves blocked up the machine and needed to clean out. It did happen around the time it was recommended to check bolt tightness so no big deal and was to be expected when mulching wet leaves. Look forward to using in the fall on dryer leaves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Useable features After an easy assembly it took several uses to learn how to use its features. The hose attachment does not work with larger leaves, leaves get stuck in the hose, smaller leaves no problem. Watch it when using it near rocks they will get sucked up and make a lot of racket. Limb shredder has handled everything for its size with no problems. I would recommend this shredder knowing its limitations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very powerful. I have used this shredder/chipper only on leaves and small twigs so far. It does a great job on them as long as they are fed slowly. The chipper/shredder is powerful enough to handle the load but the twigs will form a bridge along the lower part of the chute and prevent the rest of the load to filter down. I think they all do this so it's not a problem specific to the machine.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Have your sockets & wrenches ready This shredder is great for dry branches. The first hour of use, I used it to shred limbs from a pine tree. The machine locked up and would not turn over. I had to completely disassemble the shredder to clean it. The instructions say to alternate loads of wet and dry material to prevent the discharge from becoming plugged. From my experience, I’d say not to use wet material at all. It took me several hours to tear apart the shredder, clean it, and then bolt it back together again. I still have a number of pine tree branches cut. I’m letting them dry out before I try shredding them.

does it work better chipping fresh cut wood or dried branches i know the fresh stuff is more flexible but the dry stuff seems like it will be harder on the blades? also how does it do with leaves? and vine plants there are alot of wild grape vines here?

With all of the Tazz Chipper/Shredder units we suggest only dry and dead material. If you are using fresh material it will cause the rotor to get plugged up and will constantly need to be cleaned out.
