Rated 5 out of 5 by from High Quality, Trustworthy Food I've been feeding my Pomeranian Taste of the Wild since he was a pup and he's now going on 5 years. I chose this brand because I wanted higher quality/healthier food to feed him. He has never fussed over mealtime. Also, this food has never made him ill. I was thrilled when my local store started stocking the small breed formula. My only wish is that they would make more flavors in the small breed formula!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My dogs love it My dogs love it and one has severe allergies to flax and flaxseed. This is the only high quality food I could find that did not have those ingredients.

What weight class is considered to be a small dog breed? I have a 27 pound French Bulldog/ Pug mix and from what I’ve read online, he is at the heavier end of the small breed class. Would this food be sufficient for his weight?

Asked by: brooke1087
Hello – great question! While Appalachian Valley was developed specifically for small breed dogs, which are generally considered to be less than 22 pounds, it is fine for larger adult dogs to eat this recipe as it will provide a balanced diet for any sized dog. We recommend following the feeding guidelines which can be found on the side of the bag and/or on our website here https://www.tasteofthewildpetfood.com/dog-formulas/appalachian-valley-small-breed-canine-formula-with-venison-garbanzo-beans/.

Which Taste of the Wild food has the lowest amount of fat. Our mini Schnauzer just suffered from pancreatitis, and we need a low-fat food. Thank you.

Asked by: Lexie Mae
Hi, Lexie. We are sorry to hear about your Mini Schnauzer’s pancreatitis and hope they are on the mend! The formulas listed below have the lowest fat percentages at 15% on an as-fed basis. - Pacific Stream Canine Formula - Sierra Mountain Canine Formula - Southwest Canyon Canine Formula - Pine Forest Canine Formula We recommend consulting with your veterinarian to find the most appropriate diet for your dog’s condition.
