I'm looking for a replacement for my current waterer because it keeps freezing by the float.. how good is this one insulated against freezing? We have brutal winters and 40 below windchills... need one I can count on not freezing.

Per Tarter: This tank has a 500 watt heater, and is insulated very well. While we cannot guarantee it will never freeze, it is highly unlikely to and we have not had calls on complaints on this freezing in the past.

How is the hookup done? and how is it installed? water line sizing, etc It looks like the side access is really small to get at a shut off or anything.
