Rated 1 out of 5 by from Need to purchase a suture kit too! Purchased this because of the price. It's kind of flimsy. Ended up having one cow gash here eyebrow open. Also had 3 cows get there ears almost cut clean through do to the sharp edge where it bolts together. Would not recommend at all. They should be ashamed of using the American built label.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Bull Tough! Durable and tough enough for the steers amd bulls we have.
Date published: 2019-08-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor quality Sharp edges where the pieces bolt together. Because of the edges being sharp a couple of cows gashed behind their ears open. Also poor weld quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great round bail feeder Really nice round bail feeder , went together good and tight.
Date published: 2019-08-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easily installed hay saver to replace bent one The lower panels on this hay saver keep the forage in. The construction resists the cattle who will bend it.
Date published: 2019-04-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features Sturdy, durable and less waste with the skirt around the bottom.
Date published: 2019-04-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from So far holding up We got another with no dividers because our steers have horns they tore it apart so we try this one and so far they have not torn apart also the spacing for there horns was the wisest we looked at.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from heavy duty great feeder. needs better angle wear bolts together, when tighting bolts the angle is off and bends the metal but bolts get tight just will be a week spot over time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from rugged feeder I bought this a few weeks ago and happy I did. Before I was feeding a bale a day with a lot of waste ,now I only feed a bale every other day . My bull doesnt seem to be beating this feeder up
Date published: 2019-03-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well Saves hay I bought this hay ring from the Waller store in Texas about a year and a half ago has worked well. This year my bull finally damaged it and it started breaking but I’m gonna buy another one because it lasts a whole lot longer than anything else I’ve ever found on the market , highly recommend ..it does need extra bolts, they don’t put enough bolts in the unit when you buy it and so I would definitely bolt it tight in every hole that has an area to put a bolt in so it makes it stable and secure . Just wish they stocked this thing during the winter months when you’re Feeding hay to your cattle. Mine started falling apart and now it has lost all the cross braces . I dont need a hay ring for my cattle in the spring and summer when they graze grass and Tractor supply does not have it in stock during winter or early spring . Seems to me you would stock or at least make it available for sale during the season you use it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hay saver This feeder saves on waste Easy to haul from store to your place And only took 10 minutes to put together
Date published: 2019-03-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Heavy duty Heavy duty feeder. Not too hard to assemble with two people. Need a flat area to make it easier. Cows haven’t pushed it around since I put it out.
Date published: 2019-03-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple to assemble I bought the hay feeder month ago and so happy we did our steers do well eating the hay from it and nice paint finish as well
Date published: 2019-03-12
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy duty The hay ring seems heavy duty but time will tell. It looks like it's made well. The reason I gave it 4 stars is in my mind to be heavy duty it needs bolts in every hole designed to have bolts in them. When assembling there are only bolts for the upper and lower holes not the center holes. So I added my own to the center.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Titan Bull Hay Feeder We purchased this a few weeks ago to put in another pasture for temporary feeding. Has held up thus far very well to our rowdy herd. I have a graveyard full of bend and twisted lighter built units waiting to go to scrap. This should last for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tarter Titan Bull Hay Feeder We bought one of these and liked it so well that last week we bought even one. Our bull can't break this one and he's huge.
Date published: 2019-03-05
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tarter bull ring We bought the Tarter Titan bull hay ring in January. It saved us so much wasted hay we bought another one in February. No more wasted hay. Worth the investment.
Date published: 2019-02-18
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Feeder had a couple problems but no big deal The feeder wasn’t in the best condition I didn’t notice it when I picked it up but had some broken welds and a pretty good dent in the bottom. I fixed it myself I’m guessing they didn’t know it at the store it was the last one in stock when I pick it up.not complaining I understand things like this happen and it will not affect anything as far as me going back to TSC for more items in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very sturdy I bought this a month ago and it has stood up to our Angus bull so far. This winter he started pushing round bale feeders and round bales. He destroyed two older feeders. This feeder shows no signs of damage from him.
Date published: 2019-02-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fairly heavy. Large diameter tubing. Metal skirt along the bottom saves hay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hay ring ever Love it our cows don’t get the heads stuck on the hay ring now
Date published: 2019-01-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to last Bought this almost a month ago due to my 1400 lbs angus bull folding my old round bale feeder up like an accordion. This one is at least twice as heavy as my old one so hopefully it will be my last one I have to purchase for a long time.
Date published: 2019-01-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hay feeder - Tarter It seems to be doing what it needs to do and holding up well. I do not have a large herd but with bulls it is doing well.
Date published: 2019-01-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Heavy duty So far it’s holding up great. The galvanized ones are cheap junk. Hated to spend the money on this one but seems to be a good buy and hopefully will hold up a few years.

Does this hay feeder work well for horses?

Asked by: Saline
We do not recommend this for horses or for horned cattle due to the top being closed. We have several hay feeders with open tops that are designed for horses - sku 2168032, sku 2168155, sku 2160026 and sku 1042634. Thank you,

what gauge steel is the skirt and the bars?

Asked by: cattle feeder
Because gauge terminology can vary company to company, we like to use overall weight when explaining thickness of steel. With that said, the S bars on this feeder are 19 gauge, the top 2" tube rail is 14 gauge and the skirt is 20 gauge. This is a very strong, rugged feeder. Please let us know if you need anything else. Thanks!
