Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wildlife Habitat Valuable Equipment Used my unit to maintain grassy openings, lane ways, woods trails and fields. Unit performed excellently and was easy to handle hitched to my ATV, started well and appears to be well constructed and well suited to stand up to many years of use. As a retired state wildlife biologist I used similar equipment and methods on state wildlife areas for over 35 years and am pleased to have my own machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Performs as advertised! I only have about 8 hours of use on it so far, but I’m very happy with the performance.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Swisher tow behind rough cut brush mower Great tow behind mower! Pulling it with a four wheeler is a breeze. Heavy unit so be prepared for some work moving it around and loading on a trailer if you can’t keep it attached to the tow vehicle. Wish there was a way to tow it with the neck in the folded position just to save space on the trailer. Started first pull (once I remembered to turn on the key ).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mower!!! Great mower but the instruction for assembly are not great. The font size is way to small and there is only a diagram for assembly. I was able to take it from crate to completion in about 1.5 hours by myself. A second person as suggested would have cut this time by half. There is plenty of power and the ability to offset the mower is fantastic.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from a+ machine, cuts 3" brush ( trees) with ease! Delivered 2 weeks early, started first pull and I use to make trails thru virgin forest. This is not a trail mower, it's a tree cutter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I give it a 5 but.... Just purchased got it out of crate and assembled. The instructions could have been a little better but like the challenge of figuring things out. Don't call support, I tried and they didn't even have the manual on file. But works great once i got it running

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Eats up just about everything. Mowed roughly 10 acres. Lots of 6 foot scotch broom. Just had to slow down for the thick stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better Than I Hoped Arrived at my local TSC 4 days after order. The crating was very good. It took me about 45 mins to get it uncrated. About an hour to get the tow bar installed by myself. Very heavy construction. Engine started on third pull. It comes with engine oil full. I pull it with a Kawasaki Mule. The cable with the key and handle to engage the blades will not reach to the cab (it gets about a foot inside the bed) with the tow bar straight, with it offset, it reaches halfway in the bed. I have cut pulling with the tow bar straight and with it offset, also, I have cut by backing with the tow bar straight. It cuts as good as my Bush Hog on the heavy brush, briars, and saplings. They saplings I have cut so far, have been about 2" in diameter. Leveling and adjusting the cutting height is very easy. I am very happy with its performance, and quality of build.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tuff little mower preforms as advertised Our uses on the farm very for this mower. We chose last year to pasture bottom land in late fall that we normally cut as hay. The winter rain flood and carries leaves small branches over this field. This spring with the extra stubble from late pastureing there were an abundance. Much too much to ever think of cutting for hay in the later this year. A tractor would be stuck and rut the field. We have had the experience before. This 44” towed behind a Honda Forman 4x4 is able to skip across the field with ease. Getting close to creek banks , fences , ditches and windbreak trees with ease. In places where we use hand held brier sickles. To keep down the careless weeds. On the up land pastures clipping down small cedars, saplings and briers along fence lines and corners. On the back side in woods near railroad it cleared undergrowth up to 1.5 inches no problem. We did mow this area twice due to thickness . Keep in mind this took up to a week (6 days or 55 hours) mowing, needless to say saddle sore and being bounced around was trying. My thoughts the fuel tank could have been larger could be a problem, were unfounded. We experienced two maulfunctions, the unit coming out of gear . Both times our fault moving to fast through rough areas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mower I bought this to rough cut 29 acres with my Polaris RZR. Works well easy to assemble and started right up. Only isdue was I had to raise the hitch level or the front of the mower would hit the ground.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick delivery and great pricing! Great customer service and super great to price match! Delivered to store in just a few days and they were great helping to load. This is my second swisher mower and can’t wait to start using!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As advertised Working trails on 40acres. Heavy brush. This machine has worked perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great machine so far. We bought the Swisher 44 rough cut to keep our 8 acre pasture maintained. Tow bar was simple to install then added gas. It fired up on second pull! Cut our pasture with ease which was close to 2 ft high. Had to install the control assembly to the tow bar as there is no feasible way to attach to our Honda Rincon, aside from that it works flawlessly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a beast! Got this to mow 2 acres of uneven land, with lots of rocks and brush. It ate everything in its path! There were areas of growth over 6 feet tall, went over it with ease, didn't even sputter. I could hear it hitting rocks, but still it kept on. I picked it up in its crate - make sure you have a good sized trailer to put it on, I barely got it into the bed of my truck. A 6x8 trailer would be best. Once out of the crate, it was fairly easy to put together. One hole, however, is a bit misaligned, and I'll need to drill it out a bit. Other than that, I'm pleasantly surprised how well this thing ate through all the brush and small saplings! It's definitely a rough cut, I went over a couple areas twice, and it looks great. The more grassy areas even look nice!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 44inc Swisher I brought this To go behind my atv and so happy I did. Easy to setup and pull

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Initial thoughts after using mower a few times With the redesigned tow bar, this machine is a very solid capable brush cutter. As people have said, if you can run it over it’ll cut it. I’m cutting small honeysuckle bushes and small buckthorn trees, along with the stray box elder. Very happy so far!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Far Very UnHappy!!! I had the mower shipped to my local store & picked it up (still in crate) on April 16th. Took it out to my land in East Texas on 4/30, put together and put in new gas ...then my son & I spent the next 1.5 hours wearing our arms out trying to start it!!!! Quick test appears there is a grounding issue, as no spark at spark plug. Spent the last two days going through Power Plus warranty provider trying to get it looked at, but I'm told they don't service in the field ...they must pick up and take to shop. Here's the best part, they are running at least 18 days behind just to look at it, then however many additional days to repair!!! Makes me wonder if they test these before they leave the factory? Also, I guess if I didn't have the PP warranty, my only option would be to return to TSC for a replacement!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Impressive! We have 110 acres, about 60 acres is wooded, the rest is hilly pasture. No tractor, just a side by side. Wanted the Kawasaki motor rough cut version, but bought this because it was $600 off online.... Received within 3 days, and I immediately hooked it up and started mowing through the woods, over hedgeapple trees, rocky hills, and all kinds of brush. Side by side pulled it like it wasnt even there, no sliding..no motor bogging. Have used it everyday since receiving it! Love It!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from side hill prairie Bought this mower to keep our prairie under control. It is on a significant slope, with lots of tall weeds while the grass is establishing. Pulled well behind the Gator. Nice rough cut. (We didn't want it to look golf course smooth.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Trail cutter Very happy with this product. It was ready to go right out of the crate all I had to do was add gas. Started on the second pull. Very easy to operate. Made quick work of my field. Ordered online and picked it up at the store in 3 days. Staff was super helpful loading it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job and takes a beating so far I bought the Swisher 44" rough cut a few weeks ago and have cut about 15 acres so far. I picked it up at the store and the staff were great getting the crated mower in the back of my Nissan Frontier. If you get one with the same truck, take the tailgate off the truck and have the forklift lift it over your bedrails. I had to pull off some pieces of the crate so it would lower into the bed, but it all worked out. Assembly was quick and the machine was packed well. I ran it for 5 hours and changed the oil. In all I have run it for around 20 hours. The cotter pins like to fall out during operation from the tow pin. I have just been bending finish nails instead. I have a very rough field that hasn't been mowed for over 5 years. I had stands of poplars about 8' tall and 2"-3" in diameter to take down. I found that if the ATV could run over them the Swisher would get what it could as long as I took care to let it finish chewing up what was there. I have it at maximum height until I learn the fields better. The cut is not pretty but that is not what I was after. I was a little concerned about 11.5 hp not being enough, but I am very pleased with the power. The gas tank is not big, but I find it runs upward of an hour and a half which is good as I find I need a break by then anyway. Also, I am towing this thing with a 2016 Honda Rancher 2wd only. Plenty of power and no issues with hills. I have read that the belt is a pain to replace, but have not come to that point yet. Overall I am pretty happy with the machine. I love coming home and seeing my fields managed. The cable controls have worked well too. I have not hooked up a battery for turn key starting......maybe next year. The fields were a mix of saplings, briars, weeds, and some crazy tall thick grass in the pond and wet areas. I tried to tackle some big woody tree/shrubs (6'). The stalks were bunched about a dozen or so and 1"-2" thick and they were too much for the mower. In fact I had a hard time getting the ATV over them, so there is that. I am happy with the quality of the machine so far and would recommend it to anyone looking to reclaim some neglected fields.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from VERY GOOD INVESTMENT I bought this mower to do up keep on the state right of way because they won't. It is a beast works great. I have to admit I was a bit worried that it could not handle the weeds and stuff growing out there but boy was I wrong. If I had one suggestion is put a swivel hitch on the thing so the tow device can be on a different plane. But performance is great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lots of power Bought it a moth ago , easy to put together and has plenty of power
Date published: 2017-09-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I expected Bought this a few weeks ago. Assembly was super simple and easy to connect to my quad. Just recommend having a game plan and doing some pre work in wooded areas as the turning radius is poor when backing up. Might get in a pinch if no defined game plan. Cuts well and evenly.
Date published: 2017-08-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great If you can run over it with the four wheeler this will cut it down. I don't have a four wheel drive but it might be useful. I have a hard time getting up steep hills with the extra weight. Cuts great! Chops down trees 2-3" thick with ease.
