How is this product applied to a 12' x 12' horse stall?

Asked by: Susmorte
Sprinkle a loose dusting, about 4 or more cups, on top of fresh shavings or in between adding bedding and rake it in. This is a granular product so it can be mixed with other bedding. Can use cedar or pine shavings.

Can this be used in a yard? IE - sprinkled on soil (just dirt patch, no grass) where dogs frequently urinate in the backyard? The urine smell has become very strong in that area. Thanks in advance.

Can this product be used to freshen up a cattle loafing barn?  They often eat hay in the barn. If so, how much should I use per square foot?  The barn is about 25’ x 30’

Asked by: Lolly18
Yes, you can use this product in a cattle loafing barn. For a 1/16" covering, a 25lb bag will cover approximately 70sqft. It is recommended to use a thicker covering for "wet" spots.

One of our horses does not keep her stall very dry and it will have a very strong ammonia smell. The stall is a 12x16 foot stall how often can we use this product in her stall and how much would we use at a time?

Asked by: sherbear123
The initial application routine for Sweet PDZ in a stripped stall environment is to simply sprinkle a visible covering (generally 4 to 6 cups in a 12’x12’ stall) on the floor of the stall, with the heaviest treatment where the urine is concentrated. Apply your preferred bedding per your routine. Your daily routine should include the removal of the saturated bedding material as usual, and then sprinkle a visible covering (generally .5 cup to 2 cups, depending on the size of the wet area) of Sweet PDZ on the “wet spots”.

Thankfully our horse never pees in his stall, but he goes to the same spot in the sandy paddock. The sand/gravel is about 4 inches deep. Would this work and if so how would I apply it? Thank you in advance!

Asked by: Jake O
We suggest initially to dig down the 4 inches and put a generous layer of PDZ on the ground below, this will capture any ammonia below the sand. Refill with fresh gravel and treat with PDZ daily to help dry the area out along with neutralizing the ammonia odors that emit from the spot.

Would like to use this as a whitewash in hog and cattle barns would it work?

Asked by: Tony0791
If you are trying to just simply mitigate odor in the these livestock habitats, then Sweet PDZ can be used as an amendment in cattle and hog slurries to neutralize odors and help with co-digestion of organic materials.

Can this be used in a show pig stall where they are likely to root?

Asked by: JASARNL
Sweet PDZ is an inert and food grade mineral, so random and accidental consumption of it in small amounts shouldn't present any health problems. If an animal consumes a large amount (which is unlikely, as it would be as appealing as eating dirt) then the animal should be given water to drink and/or taken to a vet for exam.

Can this item be used in open small area in dog fence?

Asked by: Jodie2016
Yes, this product can be used for that application and will not harm the dog as long as the product is not consumed. We would recommend using a light sprinkle and mixing it with the dirt.

Could this be used to absorb moisture in a crawl space?

Asked by: Barker
Absolutely! Sweet PDZ has both ammonia and moisture capturing abilities, it also absorbs those odors associated with damp locations, such as a crawl space. Apply a fine layer throughout the crawl space – depending upon the dampness, you might use more material, but you will be able to monitor based on moisture/smell test.

can i uyse this in my chicken coop

Asked by: hollyberryix
Sweet PDZ has been keeping horse stalls ammonia free and healthy for nearly 33 years; however, ammonia is ammonia regardless of the species producing it. Therefore it will do the same great job in your chicken coops and houses. It safeguards flock health by neutralizing and eliminating harmful levels of ammonia and odors, is safe and effective moisture absorption, all-natural, non toxic, premium grade zeolite mineral, contains no masking scents or chemical perfumes, and is safe and beneficial to dispose with waste on compost and gardens.
